I see lots of "verified " ads. Does that mean they are legit? Real pics? etc, what confidence should I have because I seriously doubt it is any kind of guarantee

Gentlemen??

It used to verify legitimacy years ago.

Now that scammers have found a way to fake the signs or the print on the signs being held in the "verified" photos, it means nothing.

Anyone can steal a few photos online, edit in some signs and voila! They become verified by Leolist.

Actual reviews (just because someone says they are reviewed doesn't make it true), social media, a website and an online presence are usually a sure bet that someone is legitimate.

Agree with Kitty's statement above but at one time the "verified" sign was to indicate the person in the ad was the person you'd meet if you decided to see them. These days, IMO, LL, Listcrawler and Locanto are all a crapshoot, some worse than others.

There are many legitimate SP that advertised on leolist but not many. Scam ratio is very high.

I whish there would be other sites more reliable. Even Tryst is full of scams now.

Anyway for me, I dont venture unless reliable reviews.

Scammers will always eventually find a way to cheat the system as we are seeing with Tryst now.

It's unfortunate.

The popular sites should certainly have the resources to have "the next system" sitting in the wings, with the one after that in mind. That and and good automated scam detection, with actual humans keeping an eye in things and monitoring complaints as well.

I still have some hopes for Tryst, because being overrun with scammers seems off brand there. LL on the other hand just seems to view scammers as another source of revenue.

To be honest, I'm not sure what else Tryst could implement to avoid scammers signing up.

I signed up yesterday and they require a selfie with a handwritten sign, a selfie with valid ID, and a photo of the front and back of the ID used.
They also require that you submit at least three profile photos that match the person in the previous photos.

I am still waiting for my account approval and I've heard it can take a few weeks which is fine with me. It just means that they do actually fully review each profile.

It usually means the pictures are legit/ verified. However as many have said ; scammers have now found a way to get their ads verified by photo shopping the sign into the pictures.

The best thing to do is ensure you look ad the ad and watch for any warning signs ( its different for everybody ) & to search and see if the SP you want to see has reviews.

Its such a shame that the scammers are giving the good girls who use leolist a bad name.

Nice to see the hidden gem club and "thinking with their little head" mouth breathers being predictable in the responses to this thread.
