I've been debating this with friends, all from the states, none of whom travel to Canada regularly.
I didn't really start to hobby until I began traveling to the great white north every month on business. I was 35. In my view sex work is basically legal & hassle-free in Canada. I also believe that you get a good deal for what you pay. Good-looking, friendly sex workers are available in major cities for a reasonable price (as compared to most western nations).
My thought is this, as a young man, say 25-35 years old, I put up with tremendous levels of shit from women just to get laid. Your basic degrading, game-playing, dating crap - same as most guys I would assume. If I had access to great sex from hot women for a decent price (as I would have if I'd lived in the GTA) would I have made better decisions? Would I have been more often willing to walk away from spending hundreds of $$ on dates in the hopes that I might get lucky, some day?
I have to believe that having this option changes the relationship dynamic, both dating and marriage. My friends say "people are people". I'm not so sure. But I did not come of age in Canada so I have no actual frame of reference.
