Does temperature affect how meds work?

Most of you know about my Son and his kidney issues. His last two appointments were great however the last two weeks he has been getting sick in the mornings and he is getting irrationally angry. His BP is up I assume. Could the unseasonable heat be affecting how his meds work? I am grasping at straws here I know. :(

this question your concerns are best addressed with the doctor.

Has any new drugs or environmental issues been introduced?

Only your doctor is qualified to give an educated response to your questions. It could be related, or it could be something unrelated (e.g. dehydration because of the warm weather, leading to irritability).

As long as the meds are stored in a cool dry place, it should not affect them. However the warm weather could be having effects on your son himself, as the previous poster said.

unless the doctor had instructed to refrigerate the medications, I don't think heat will effect it.. perhaps if you leave it out in the sun for a few months or so

Actually I meant how the meds work in his body, I realize I was not too clear in my question. The heat and how it affects his body is my concern. He has gone to the Hospital to get his blood and urine tested so I have to wait to hear the results. I hate being so far away from my kids, especially when they are having health issues.

sigh, yes, I know his Dr. is the best one to ask. Unfortunately his Dr. is a specialist in London. It is not that easy to just pick up the phone and call. He needs an appointment to actually talk to his Dr.

i don't think one's body heat really affects the medication much... the body know how to regulate body heat and keep it constant... so unless he has hypothermia or got high fever, i don't see how it would affect medication

My Son is 26, he lives 3 hours away, he is in charge of his own meds and Dr.s appointments. I have gotten a lot of helpful insight and advice from the people here on terb. It may surprise you to know that some of the people here actually have educations and jobs, some that are the medical care field and have given me more advice than I could get from someone in an official capacity. Thank you for your suggestion however, if i could find a pharmacist that would actually converse on the subject I would be more than happy to call each and every pharmacist in the city.
