You never know? I know a nice place on Dundas in Miss, another in North York and both were put on my radar by people right here!

Any day rates are just that. During the day. At least 6 hours.
But I but you can find them at most hotels now. Hell just look at Expedia and see if the full rate is discounted enough. They are empty anyway.
Edit: I just looked on Expedia. I'm seeing up to 40% full day discounts. Call for day rate. You should get about the same.

Have a friend who books AirBnB’s for this all the time. Works out great for him.AirBnB. For real.
Just clean up before leaving (condoms etc) and don’t be too noisy. He said the neighbours are usually wise to what their AirBnB is being booked for so you don’t want the owner getting complaints.
He usually books the really nice studio apartments for a day.. says they are cheap and incredibly discreet... no door man in a hotel, no maids watching, etc.

Just go on Hilton.com and set Check In/Check Out as same day; use a Credit Card to hold the room and tell front desk you want to pay cash when you leave
My guess is he doesn't want to spend that much which is he's asking for day rates. 200 bucks for a few hours is steep.

Yep. Finding a decently-priced room downtown during the summer can be a chore, even with lesser places like the Chelsea or chains like Holiday Inn.hotel industry is battered like every other sector no sympathy from me, in the good times they were gauging 400 and higher a night for a basic shit room
