The business of oil companies is one thing and military control over strategic resources is another. The next global conflict that is coming will be all about the access and control over those resources. Bush has made very bold move on world chessboard by colonization of Mesopotania. May be he's really not very articulate but he's for sure not a pussy.

Indicted for war crimes?

I wonder if anyone here in Alberta will indict the man on war crimes? Of course, it's Bush and not Cheney, and this is Canuckdom not Spain or somewhere in Europe, but I do wonder.... Eh, why wonder, I know it won't happen.

Let history be the judge.

Presidents don't fight, Woody !!!! It's not their job!!
Of course not but, many did fight when they were younger and of age in time of war.

Bush was of age during the Vietnam conflict but never served. He used his family influence to avoid it.

This is Woody's point and it's a valid one.

Give him credit for having had some intelligence then.

PS: WTF are you doing here? Should you not be in Niagara Falls supporting Tory?

I've never supported John Tory, why would I start supporting him now?

Sure Woody has a point. Bush is a draf dogger like many other politicians both liberal and conservative in US and other parts of the world. I'm not american. I'm not pro american or pro iraq or whatever. But again, cold fact is that Bush administration is leaving america in much better strategic position than it was before they came.

That is debatable.

Without a doubt Bush has left the U.S. in a worse position politically. This could prove to trump any strategic gain.

You must be 'kraked'......

Yep the USA is in better shape the last 8 years if you say:
blowing the Clinton Surplus,
more than Doubling the National Debt,
shipping record numbers of US Jobs offshore,
starting a couple wars of EMPIRE that are breaking the US Military and stretching it to its limits,
having 9/11 happen on HIS WATCH and then NOT catching that fella Osama, what's his name for TWO TERMS
Not to mention all this having most nations despising the USA the last 8 years,
......are all positive things that bettered the US strategic position!

Time to put down your crack pipe and smell the coffee, no?....

I believe he was referring to control of oil reserves.

Do you really believe that what matters is military control of oil reserves, not the
political factors, Woody is mentioning?

He is not legally allowed to enter Canada without a special exemption from the Minister of Immigration, due to his status as a convicted criminal. (He has never applied to Canada for a pardon for his DUI charge.)

Has he applied for the exemption? Or has he forgotten that he cannot cross the border without one?

As an alternative he could appear before a Canadian judge and ask for a pardon for his DUI conviction. Given the number of years that have gone by and the people who would vouch for his character I imagine this would be a shoe-in for him--but my understanding is he has not applied.

President Obama stop talking about withdrawal after he assumed the office. You know why Germany and Japan lost WW2 ? Because they got cut off from fuel.
I hadn't heard that. In fact what I heard was that he wanted to leave sooner. Logic would suggest that the American's remain because the are addicted to oil, as Bush said, and because Iraq will totally collapse into internacine violence if they leave. But, logic in Washington is something that has always been in short supply.
