In the March Madness preview show on The Score last night, both of the analysts had VCU coming out on top in that game. Sherman Hamilton (one of the analysts, who also played ball for VCU) had them going as far as at least the sweet sixteen round. It seems like VCU is a team to reckon with and some people already knew that.

duke is rebuilding and this was not a surprise. it is weird to see duke out in the first round though.

I was getting worried that there wouldn't be any upsets today. (8-9 games don't count)

I can't see VCU getting by Pitt. They hit the boards hard and had some clutch shooting but Pitt has played some great defense all season. VCU also has no one who can defend Gray (or even the Canuck Kendall) one on one.

On the bright side, at least Bobby Knight was sent packing.

From my understanding, Duke had 3 freshmen and 1 sophomore in the starting lineup this season, a very young team.
