This shouldn't even be a Kobe / Wade question.

It should be a Ray Allen / Wade question.

Kobes' skill were never in question - it becomes a question of leadership, plus; a lot of other intangibles (for which Kobe is sorely lacking). McGrady and Carter made the list based solely on court side skills , the fact that they're quitters will never push them farther than their current ranking.

If you had to play a fantasy draft and both players were available it would be a hard pick. As well, it depends on what type of offense you'll be running...but all things considered, Wade will inch it out as the best; followed very closely by Allen.

Kobe can stay a tier lower - with Francis, Carter and McGrady.

I'd almost be willing to push Ginobili to number 3 maybe 4 on this list. I'd certainly take him ahead of Carter, Francis and McGrady.

Would only care if it was mono-mono with brass knucks in a barb wire steel cage. I'd take Wade over Kobe in about 2 minutes. Kobe is a pussy while Wade has got the whole gangsta thing going on.

I am not a KB fan but I will admit that one quality that he has above all the rest in the list is that ability to hit clutch shots in games.

I'd say if I had to have a team
DW is first, based on his youth and what he has shown so far the future is bright.

MG I like the fast pace that he plays at.

RA one of the best pure shooters.

KB just edges out TM.

AFter that point JJ and VC are guys that I'm not really enamoured with.
Hate VC's character and JJ I haven't seen him play enough to say for sure.

Yes Ginobili is seriously underrated, plus he is an incredible passer as well. I agree with the Kobe in the tier of Carter, Mcgrady etc. Bryant is a great player but I think he's been overrated by the media and fans for years. He closed out the season finishing 2-19. You can't find any all time great player that let his team lose that many games in a stretch or even today's players like a Carter led Raptors just a couple years ago.

I guess it come down to style of play as well.

I watch Wade and Ginobili play and I'm reminded of an all-out, balls to the wall game. A young John Starks, Nate Archibald or even Isaiah comes to mind. I see Ray Allen and I'm reminded of a young Glide, with a hint of the Pearl or even the sweet touch in the perimeter of an Iceman.

Carter, Kobe, TMac, Francis can all take a seat.

I have disliked KB8 since my high school days which was the time when he got drafted. Nonetheless, I would still consider him to be the best shooting guard out there. I know some of you would hate reading this, but he is like a Michael Jordan Jr. The only exception is that he is not a leader and he can not exploit the best out of his team mates. Based on skills and not character, KB8 is for sure the best shooting guard.

Howeverv, if character was incorporated into the equation, then I would have to say RIP Hamilton simply because he's not a superstar, but a team player who doesn't mind sharing, doesn't mind scoring less then 20 PPG, doesn't mind not being in the top tier of big names. In terms of star power, RIP is way below the others, yet, his character makes up for it.

Anyway, here is my ranking based on raw skillz:

1) Kobe
2) Ray Allen
3) Wade
4) Francis
5) T-Mac

Here is my ranking with skillz and character:

1) RIP
2) Ray Allen
3) Steve Francis
4) Ginnobili
5) Wade
