What do any of the wrestling fans on this board think of the upcoming ECW pay-per-view this Sunday? Personally, I truly miss ECW and if this even comes remotely close to the excitement that the old ECW cards had then it will easily be worth the cost (moreso than the mostly bland, predictable, homogenous WWE cards).

However, as much as I`m looking forward to it i`m worried that somehow Vince and the "creative team" will offer their own advice on how to improve it and end up ruining the entire thing.

I agree that Vince and his boys will not allow it to be a "true ECW" event, but if last nights RAW is any indication I think that it will be one of the better PPV's of the year.

ECW PPV on Sunday was boring - obviously very scripted by Vince even more so than usual - I would've like to have seen the WWE boys cleanup then have the old ECW guys raid Raw and Smackdown all summer to get even. One ECW shot just not good enough. Also, WWE very boring these days - if I have to sit through one more HHH speech I think I'll slit my wrists. Let's not even get started on JBL (talk about crapolla!). Maybe Stone Cold will stir things up for a while.

Actually I thought the ECW PPV was very good. First indication is that there were 800,000 buys in the USA - making it a runaway success!

JBL was actually great on the mic Sunday night. His rant about ECW fans being losers living at home with their parents, going on the internet, surfing porn, then e mailing their buddies about how "hardcore" they are was priceless... :)

did anyone else notice that the blue meanie was a bloody mess after the big brawl at the end of the ppv? well apparently, JBL gave meanie a few REAL shots during the brawl and thus, causing meanie's stitches to open up....talk about taking things too seriously!

heyman's shoot was amazing...from edge to jbl....it was great.

I thought the PPV was far better than anything WWE has done in at least three years. The matches were a little rushed, Mick Foley was horrible as a color commentator and I could`ve done without the invasion angle; but all that`s minor compared to being able to see guys like Sabu, Dreamer and Sandman in their element one last time. It seemed like the wrestlers who were trying the hardest were the guys not currently under contract with WWE. Probably hoping for a job.

Favourite line of the night- Paul Heyman: "I`m not crying. My eyes are red because I was smoking a joint with Van Dam in the back."

I too thought it was much better than anything that the WWE has put out. One Night Only really made me realize just how crap wrestling has become since Vince bought out the competition.

I also agree that Mick Foley was horrible as a colour commentator. His tone was so mellow and boring.Mick, this is a ECW PPv you're on, your supposed to sound enthusiastic. It was as if he was reading his childrens book to a bunch of pre schoolers.

Scripted??? What helped make the ECW PPV different and much better than any of the other also ran monthly's was RVD's and Heyman's raw shoots. Other than the setup of talking to the WWE stars, there was true emotions and nerves uncovered. Digs at Vinnie Mac and HHH were barely veiled.

I'm curious as to what happens to RVD when he's healthy. Hopefully, he moves to the top of the card like he deserves to be but likely he'll be in the doghouse jobbing for the Master tool or some other joke.

Awesome vs. Tanaka ... Match of the year candidate. That was just wrong but oh so right!
