EE providers - "Slaves"?

I caught an interesting show on BBC Television last week. The main premise is that EE women are sold into slavery and their families are threatened if the girl tries to quit. The show focused on Britain and other Western European countries. I am wondering if the EE service providers in Toronto might be subject to the same kind of working conditions???
