Have an upcoming business trip to the Middle East and spending a couple of weeks in Cairo. Any experiences to share and/or weblinks to offer? Thanks -- and I already understand the cultural issues, just looking for open-minded women behind the veil.

Hey Rocky, too bad that you asked a valid question and did not get a decent answer. The mindset of people like Winston and Nic Frenchy is so typical of North American attitudes. They know so little of the Middle East and understand less of the cultural workings.
I travel extensively. Was recently in Cairo. Beautiful city. The phrase "He who hath not seen Cairo; hath not seen the world" is very true! Amazing place. You will enjoy yourself. Nightlife in Cairo is fabulous. Traffic jams at midnight are common. The key is sticking to the major hotels and understanding a few customs. You will have much fun. Also, living in the Middle East does not necessarily mean you understand the cultural workings. As for flight attendants: you will find many of them willing to enjoy a few hours with you for drinks and fun, but that applies everywhere.

I've never been to the M/E, but would caution if you plan to hobby there. They may party here, but the favour doesn't get returned quite so easily. Even the liberal countries there, aren't as easy going as you might think. Just be cautious of whom you associate with, and you should be alright. Hit a regular bar and ask the bartender, or ask the concierge (subtly) where you might friend friendly receptive women. Pretty sure they'll help out.
