Hey guys,
Just want to report potential scammer and get your opinions. I dabbled in this hobby a lot more about 10 years ago, probably seeing close to 100 different providers over the years. Back then it seemed like there were a lot more good providers, agencies, and reviews to look at before making a decision on who to see. And back then I never came across girls who were looking for a deposit before scheduling an appointment. I have heard this has become a practice that is used nowadays, as I have been asked to give one three times this weekend.
Yesterday I scheduled some time with a provider named Ember. She said that she required a deposit, I told her I was leery of giving a deposit as I did not want any bank records that might be difficult to explain. She said that I could just get her a gift card for the deposit. While I was very concerned about being scammed, I thought I would take the risk with $50, and purchased a $50 Apple gift card as she requested, and sent her a photo with the information on the card. I assumed I could pay the balance in cash, as I am completely accustomed to when partaking in this hobby. However, when I got to the location, she demanded that I give her the full amount in gift cards as she had too much cash on her already and didn’t want more. While I did find this suspicious, I went along and purchased another $200 in Apple gift cards, thinking I would just give them to her in person. However, at this point, she stated that she wanted the photos of the information on these gift cards as well. That’s where I drew the line, and we must’ve wasted an hour with her asking for a pic of the information on the cards, and me not giving it to her because I am becoming more certain that I’m being scammed. It got to the point where I said I would leave and she would lose the $200 for the appointment that we had scheduled, or she could invite me up to her room, and I could give her the cards pin person, and she could get paid full amount that we agreed on. She never did agree to that , and I did not give her the information for the remaining gift cards.
So let me ask you guys now, do you ever give deposits before scheduling an appointment? And how do you trust that it’s not just a scam, especially if it’s not a well reviewed provider? How would you normally give that deposit, e-transfer?

I'll summarize this is briefly as possible:

If she's well-reviewed, I've sent deposits many times and I've never been scammed.

If she has no reviews, you're taking a HUGE risk by sending a deposit, so I simply never do.

To answer your question directly: "How do you trust that it's not just a scam, especially if it's not a well reviewed provider?" You don't.
If they're not a well-reviewed provider, you DON'T trust it.
If they ARE a well-reviewed provider, you CAN trust it.
It's really that simple.

Dude, this gets even crazier.

Her Leolist ad shows where else she's got ads. Currently.

If you had just scrolled down, you would've seen she was simultaneously advertising incall appointments in Calgary Alberta AND Fredericton New Brunswick AT THE SAME TIME.

I don't even know what to tell you.

Your responses and input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the input. Looks like I need to do more homework. I’ve had bait and switch scams where the pics aren’t real, or the services advertised weren’t offered. This is my first time going through the deposit scam.
I haven’t been seeking the reviews recently. Years ago, I would find three or four girls on back page that I was interested in, and be able to find reviews on two or three of them (on a different different review board that I used to use), and then I could make a decision. Now I look through LL, the two or three girls I’m interested in, I can’t find any reviews on them at all.

The starting point should be to look at the area code of the phone numbers.

Need I point out that if it is a US jurisdiction, forget it.

Secondly, it he tel number is not in the ad but a website or only fans is, forget it.

It's been said numerous times in other threads, if a deposit is required DO NOT SEND because that will be lost! The only exception is well known and reviewed SPs.
OF, LL, etc never send a deposit.
