Anyone with any suggestions to my issue, please feel free to post.I am simply trying to get a copy of my credit file...when I received it about 10 years ago there was a centre in Halifax where i simply walked up to a window and gave my ID.NOW..i'm living in edmonton....and cannot find info on the local office..if there is one.Tryed ordering it online with my credit card and it says it can't ascertain who i am.....this leads me to a 1-800 number which is automated and tells me no reason for my problem with no live person to speak to about it.It does provide a letter writing address in montreal..just not crazy about sending my info through the mail.Any info at all would be appreciated..cheers

In a very dark place
Check with Alberta Consumer Ministry. I always thought people were entitled to review their report fo FREE.

Call 1-800-865-3908 and follow the prompts until an agent comes on the line. They usually will ask for your "user name" if you applied for a report online. Explain the problem and go from there, not 100% without that "user name" but it gets you a live person.

Good luck!

Go online... register and if you have a CC, you can have your report in a moment or two. Doesn't dock any points either.

You can pay online or you can as the law stipulates request in writing your credit report once per year for free.

It's listed on the web site.

I check mine frequently, and pay, as the ex wife still applys for credit cards in my name! Happens at least 3 times per year so I keep checking it!

I believe, but not certain that there are two credit agencies in Canada but I do not know who the other one is or the pricing for reports.
