When I first came to Ottawa I was the one who had put make all your dreams and fantasies come true. Low and behold half the Ottawa Sun started using bits and pieces in their ads. But this is just sick

Check my site and then look at theirs it's copied word for word.
Not to mention that they have called so we can join together and I declined so is this the reason they had to write the same as mine so people would think we are affiliated?

wow, I never noticed the identical texts on these two sites. I guess I was just looking at the pictures.

Also, am I to understand from Tracey's last comment that the image on http://profiles.yahoo.com/foxyminx3000 is of Sky (aka Europeandesire on TERB)?

Also, where is Tracey's msn playgirls page?

It happens. Get over it.

Years ago, I came up with a phrase: "Live better! Include massage in your life." It was swiped by a half dozen businesses that I knew of, including some who were active advertisers on my (then) site, Lyla's List. They had no shame. (A CMT in Arizona contacted me on line and asked if he could use it -- hey! at least he had the decency to ask, and since both is type of business and location were so different from mine, I couldn't refuse.)

Another time, I came up with the concept "Let me be your secret. And when others wonder why you're smiling, let me be the reason." Shortly thereafter, an agency started using it (again, in ads on my own site!). I phoned the owner and spoke to him, but quickly got the impression from his churlish Eastern European accent that maybe it would be better for me to drop it.

Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery. This is the internet, though. The customers aren't stupid. Mostly they know who got what from where, and they recognize original thought when they see it.

Be thankful you have what it takes to come up with something original -- and you're not one of those who has to copy someone else.

So I was not losing my mind when I read the site! It seemed familiar...and just out of sheer paranoia, did you notice SMCMIL, who started the Euro Desires thread, was a first time poster? Where did 'he' get the link?

Tracey they may have copied your text but the typestyle the are using is just plain f**king stupid! That is so hard to read!
It's easy to see the difference between a class act and garbage.

I know it crappy to have someone copy your work, I get that. At the same time this is a fact of business in every industry it won't, in and of itself, make them any more or less sucessful.

Either they will be able to deliver a service people are willing to pay for or not. That, more than anything will determine if they stick around.

We've seen a lot of agencies come and go in Ottawa, as a customer I think it woud be better if there were a few agencies fighting for the customers because it force all of you to find a way to give customers a better experience.

Of course I think the function that agencies are trying to perform is completely wrong, but that's another thread.

I would not get your panties in a knot about these bozos. I have tried 3 times to book an appointment and 3 times they have screwed things up. You know the type that I am talking about. They don't have a clue and are completely disorganized. I won't go into details but it is clear that with the short track record they have they won't be around long. Take comfort in the fact that they will be no threat to your clientele and take comfort that they must copy your text as they have no creativity nor common sense in running a business.........

I am not worried about them taking over my clientel it was just frustrating seeing my work on someone elses site. Montrealplaygirls was open almost 6 years ago and Ottawa PlayGirls almost 3 years now and I have always had the same text. Some people say don't worry it will pass but what am I to tell the clients that call and ask if we are one and the same agency or if I knew that another website is identical to mine. But thanks for everyone who has replied to my thread.

Well Tracey, your website maybe your biggest single investment, you have to realise it is you and your ladies that made your company. You can come up with a new site, but they cannot imitate your people...

While they maybe on Terb, they don't seem to realise that tactics like this only show they are fly-by-nighters. Wait one and they will be gone.

First of all, I'm not in charge of the website at all so I have no control over what goes on there unfortunately. I did notice that the wording on our website and yours are exactly the same and personally I wouldn't have done that myself. Second, I'm getting new pictures done this week so the one on my Yahoo profile is coming off and a new one will be up. I'm not sure if the agency is going to take them or if I'm going to find my own photographer because I have a good friend that does them. I was supposed to get pictures done the same day I got back from vegas, but that didn't happen so I'm leaning more towards getting my friend to do them.
I will definetely mention the website thing to the agency at some point today. I will tell them that I can re-do the wording on it if he wants. I'm not sure if he'll go for it, but hey I'll try. I'd be pissed to if my original stuff was copied somewhere else.
