EU leaders have tonight stitched up a deal to force countries to take in refugees against their will.
Eastern European countries were told they would have to welcome thousands of asylum seekers under the mandatory quota system to relocate 160,000 people from Greece and Italy after they were out-voted at a Brussels summit.
Diplomats warned the decision to over-rule the autonomy of countries on such a sensitive issue was a ‘big moment’ in the history of the union and could lead to ‘blood on the walls’.

The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary tried to block the plan but their vehement opposition was over-ridden after it was decided to use a majority vote at the meeting of interior ministers rather than consensus.
Britain is able to refuse to take part in the quota system to distribute refugees already in Europe as it has an opt-out, along with Denmark.
Slovakia immediately announced it would defy the decision. Prime Minister Robert Fico said: ‘As long as I am prime minister, mandatory quotas will not be implemented on Slovak territory.’
A diplomat from one of the countries opposed to the plan described the atmosphere around the council table as ‘terrible’, adding: ‘This is a bad day for Europe.’
Countries in favour of the quotas showed little grace after forcing them through.

http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6527/migrants-rape-Germany

◾Although the rape took place in June, police kept silent about it for nearly three months, until local media published a story about the crime. According to an editorial comment in the newspaper Westfalen-Blatt, police are refusing to go public about crimes involving refugees and migrants because they do not want to give legitimacy to critics of mass migration.

◾A 13-year-old Muslim girl was raped by another asylum seeker at a refugee facility in Detmold, a city in west-central Germany. The girl and her mother reportedly fled their homeland to escape a culture of sexual violence.

◾Approximately 80% of the refugees/migrants at the shelter in Munich are male... the price for sex with female asylum seekers is ten euros. — Bavarian Broadcasting (Bayerischer Rundfunk).

◾Police in the Bavarian town of Mering, where a 16-year-old-girl was raped on September 11, have issued a warning to parents not to allow their children to go outside unaccompanied. In the Bavarian town of Pocking, administrators of the Wilhelm-Diess-Gymnasium have warned parents not to let their daughter's wear revealing clothing in order to avoid "misunderstandings."

◾"When Muslim teenage boys go to open air swimming pools, they are overwhelmed when they see girls in bikinis. These boys, who come from a culture where for women it is frowned upon to show naked skin, will follow girls and bother them without their realizing it. Naturally, this generates fear." — Bavarian politician, quoted in Die Welt.

◾A police raid on the Munich refugee facility found that guards hired to provide security at the site were trafficking drugs and weapons and were turning a blind eye to the prostitution.

◾Meanwhile, the raping of German women by asylum seekers is becoming commonplace.

The Gatestone Institute, huh? All the articles on that fine website appear to be virulently anti Muslim.

I'm surprised that you're quoting articles from that fine and unimpeachable source, C-M.

Lots of other good stuff linked to the site - like anti abortion ranters. And my particular favourite: a lengthy rant stating that the Muslim kid who built a clock wasn't really that smart because the project was (according to the editorialist) scientifically pretty simple and an adult he knew did it too.

Great stuff! Keep 'em coming!

MORE fences! German politician calls for extra barricades to go up because 'hundreds of thousands of refugees are wandering uncontrolled through Europe'
Manfred Weber, an influential German politician, said a lot more needs to be done to protect the borders of Europe
He claimed vast numbers of refugees were simply wandering without restriction in the east of the continent
Weber also praised Hungary's controversial decision to build fences and change laws to block the migrant flow
Tonight EU leaders will meet to discuss how to deal with Europe's worst migrant crisis since the Second World War

Serbia has banned all Croatian goods and cargo vehicles from entering the country in response to Croatian border restrictions enacted to stem the flow of immigrants pouring across the joint border, according to the Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic.

Serbian police have been instructed to “not allow the entry through any border crossing any cargo vehicle registered in Croatia, nor any truck carrying goods made in Croatia,” Stefanovic said at a press-conference.

Earlier, Croatia’s Prime Minister, Zoran Milanovic, had said that he didn’t believe Serbia would go as far as introducing retaliatory measures because that would constitute an act “against the European Union.”

“Croatia is an EU member. Serbia cannot, even if it wants, impose measures against Croatia as it has an agreement with the EU. Whatever Serbia does, or thinks to do, would be against the EU and I’m sure Serbia will not do that,” Milanovic said.

Serbia, which is currently on the list of candidates to join the EU, has warned Croatia that it was willing to look at political, legal and economic measures to stop the border blockade.

Last week, Croatia closed most of its road border crossings with Serbia, leaving only one open on the main road linking Belgrade and Zagreb at Bajakovo.

The move was said to be in response to over 13,000 refugees entering the country after Hungary closed its borders on Wednesday to stop the asylum seekers from transiting through the country en route to Western Europe.

“We cannot register and accommodate these people any longer,” Milanovic said on Friday. “They will get food, water and medical help, and then they can move on. The European Union must know that Croatia will not become a migrant ‘hotspot.’ We have hearts, but we also have heads.”

Slovakia to challenge refugee quotas in court, Hungary takes aim at EU budget

The dissenting countries who voted against an EU decision to impose refugee quotas on member states are responding to plans to adopt the legislation. Slovakia wants to challenge the decision in court while Hungary says EU budget redistribution is need.
Four of the 28 EU countries voted against the quota system on Tuesday, with Finland abstaining. Slovakia, one of the loudest critics of the decision, which was advocated strongly by Germany and France, announced it would challenge it in court.

"We will go in two directions: first one, we will file a charge at the court in Luxembourg... secondly, we will not implement the (decision) of the interior ministers," the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico told reporters on Wednesday, before leaving for an EU leaders' summit in Brussels.

"We have been refusing this nonsense from the beginning, and as a sovereign country we have the right to sue," he added, saying his country would not submit to the quota as long as he leads it.

Slovakia, which has a population of 5.4 million, objects to the relocation of 120,000 migrants and refugees from Italy and Greece throughout the EU. It currently has only a small migrant community and the public opinion is against accepting Muslim asylum seekers, who make up the majority of those looking to enter Europe this year.

Fico called the decision passed by a rare vote, rather than the accepted unanimous vote by all EU member states, a "dictate of the majority" and said the plan fails to address the core issues of the refugee crisis.

This opinion was echoed on Wednesday by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who said the EU should adjust its budget rather than impose relocation on member states. He suggested raising payments to the EU by members by 1 percent and cutting EU spending by 1 percent, saying this would produce three billion euros for addressing the crisis.

"We should repeat this as many times as necessary to have the amount of money that we need to handle the crisis," he told a meeting of Bavaria's Christian Social Union, the sister party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats.

The Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka was less confrontational in the aftermath of the vote, in which his country also said no to the quotas. However, he mentioned on Wednesday that he did not want to escalate tension within the block by legally challenging the decision.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Elsaesser, editor-in-chief of the German-based magazine Compact, told RT that the way the quota vote took place, threatens European unity, while it was also a “total nonsense” in practical terms.

“It won’t lead to any solution. It’s a kind of European Union dictatorship towards smaller members,” he said, speaking to RT. “Brussels tries to press them into accepting more refugees, but the people and the governments of these countries are not willing to do so. This will become a serious rift within the European Union.”

He added that Hungary is obeying the European Union rules and the wishes of its own people and that this makes the harsh criticism of its opposition to the quotas in the German media “absolutely insane”.

Wilders has campaigned to stop what he views as the "Islamisation of the Netherlands". He has compared the Quran to Mein Kampf and has campaigned to have the book banned in the Netherlands.[6][7][8] He advocates ending immigration from Muslim countries,[6][9] and supports banning the construction of new mosques.[10] Wilders was a speaker at the Facing Jihad Conference held in Jerusalem in 2008, which discussed the dangers of jihad, and has called for a hard line against what he called the "street terror" exerted by minorities in Dutch cities.[11] His controversial 2008 film about his views on Islam, Fitna, received international attention. He has been described in the media as populist[12][13][14] and labeled far-right,[15][16] although this is disputed by other observers.[12][17][18] Wilders, who long refused to align himself with European far-right leaders such as Jean-Marie Le Pen and Jörg Haider and expressed concern of being "linked with the wrong rightist fascist groups,",[19] views himself as a right-wing liberal. More recently, however, Wilders worked together with the Front National's Marine Le Pen in a failed attempt to form a parliamentary group in the European Parliament which would also have included Austria's Freedom party, Italy's Northern League, and Belgium's Flemish Interest party.[20][21][22][23]

@ Wilbur: An article I stumbled on today in my news feed about RT misreporting and Russian propaganda.

Willy, I'm waiting for concrete examples of BBC lies....

http://khpg.org/index.php?id=1442971348

Again, oagre uses as a reference, material coming from a highly partisan source, right from Ukraine: Права Людини в Україні

Clearly, oagre can't tell the difference between impartiality and blatant partisanship. If he's seen it, and if he agrees with it (taking into account his personal biases, including a rabid hate for Russians), he decides it must be true!

As for the BBC, seems only you seem to call for "proof". Whatever you put up, obviously doesn't need proof because you are obviously the judge of what is true and what is wrong (sarcasm intended).

This is one of many CIA/NED funded groups operating in Ukraine

the NED was created in the 1980s after the CIA was exposed. the NED was created as the civilian arm of the CIA a man who help set up the NED admitted that what the NED is doing is what the CIA did years ago

https://consortiumnews.com/2014/02/27/a-shadow-us-foreign-policy/

So, while President Barack Obama has sought to nurture a constructive relationship with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin especially in hotspots like Iran and Syria, NED has invested in projects in Russia’s close neighbor, Ukraine, that fueled violent protests ousting President Viktor Yanukovych, who won election in 2010 in balloting that was viewed by international observers as fair and reflecting the choice of most Ukrainian citizens.

Thus, a U.S.-sponsored organization that claims to promote “democracy” has sided with forces that violently overthrew a democratically elected leader rather than wait for the next scheduled election in 2015 to vote him out of office.

Didn't you know that oagre is the only person who can decide what is true and what is false? That's why he uses Wikipedia himself, but he criticizes anybody else using it (especially when it doesn't suit him) as citing propaganda bullshit.

But you'll only hear crickets when Mr. oagre is challenged.

The Eastern and Southern European countries simply cannot afford mass migration. Unless Germans pay for it.
The US and its proxies in the ME created this mess by funding, training and equipping with arms various shades of Islamists, or 'moderate rebels' who have since morphed into ISIS terrorists, with the goal of overthrowing Assad in Syria. They thought Assad would just pack his bags in 2012, but he's still there. There are now reported 5 (five only) 'moderate rebels' left after a recruitment, traning and arming campaign financed by the US that cost of half a billion dollars. This is a disastrous regime change operation. Not only is Assad still there, the Russians are now moving into Syria, making very complicated and risky the planed coalition airstrikes in Syria against ISIS that were going to morph into protecting the Syrian people against their brutal dictator (same scenario as in Libya). It could start a direct military confrontation with Russia.

In the meantime, the destabilization of Syria and the territorial gains of ISIS has forced about 4 million people to flee war. One million have given up waiting to return home and are seeking their fortune and salvation in Europe. This is a major potential EU-splitting issue, as the smaller countries don't want to inject a significant number of people with different cultures and religion in their largely homogeneous populations. The US is now destabilizing Europe as a result. But nobody talks of US responsibility in this matter.
