Maybe someone can help me out here. I recall as a kid in the 1970s watching Evel Knievel's canyon jump.
Unless my memory has failed me, I thought he postponed it because of illness or at least self declared illness. I remember him being shown lying in bed.
My mom watched a little bit with me(she was on the way out to play bridge or something with my dad)and she said he did not seem to look that sick.
Now, I can find nothing on the internet about this. Has this been whitewashed?

I'm surprised he kept going after the ill-fated Caesar's Palace fountain jump., circa 1967.

told his mom he had a bit of a headache after something like this.

Might have just wanted a day off from school, but I would cut him some slack.

Why do I have this feeling that Evel pulled the chute intentionally?
