Thr CRTC recently ruled that Canadian cable companies could not bring in services such as HBO, Showtime, USA, MTV or VH1. The cable companies had argued that allowing the import of more U.S. channels
would help fight satellite piracy. Domestic broadcasters and cable stations countered that they would be severely harmed.
So you don't get to watch what you want but just what the CRTC wants you to.
