Some of the information is, however, seemingly nuts. For instance what is a flight supposedly from Hartsfield-Jackson International in Atlanta, to Jacksonville, Florida doing over central New York?

Likewise what is a flight from Denver to Amsterdam - which on a great circle route should be over Hudson's Bay doing flying over Kingston?
You're so cynical. For example, why wouldn't ASA 15 from Portland, OR to Seatte, WA, fly over Sault Ste Marie? Fairly standard routing, i would imagine....

It's all perfectly normal, I suppose. Once you accept that most of the air traffic above our heads is actually aliens carefully disguising their spacecraft as commercial airliner flights and that the government is secretly aware of all this and is actively concealing it from the average citizen to prevent......... PANIC IN THE STREETS!

After all, what other explanation could there be for such an evident anomaly?

Just found another one Air France 65 from LAX to CDG flying over the Magdalen Islands in the Gulf of St. Lawrence when it should be over the northern Ungava Peninsula. And it's being chased by Air New Zealand 2 from Auckland to London that I thought was a polar flight up over eastern Siberia

In my brief visit to the site I noticed a few strange things as well. In some cases, like your Denver to Amsterdam example, there may be a stopover that isn't mentioned. In your case, perhaps Montreal.

Still, all things considered, it's a very neat site.

Interesting how there are still flights but save for a few still trying to sneak into New York, the vast majority are flying over the storm heading for Washington, Charlotte, Atlanta and Orlando.

Great site! Seeing how many planes are in the air at any given moment makes you realize how safe air travel really is. Especially considering the number of people who die from smoking related causes is equal to more than 2 Jumbo Jets full of people crashing every day. And that's in the US alone!

If you produce statistics that compare air-traffic fatalities against time spent on a plane as opposed to the usual variable of distance travelled, planes would be less safe.

Huh?

Can you explain that to me another way. I'm kinda thick and don't understand what you are getting at?

Thanks for this Gentle Ben. A fascinating time waster .... how the heck do I bring up this site without checking every damn plane in the air before closing it out again. I will be staring at this for hours, days ..... arrrgghh!!

My return flight to Pearson from Fort Lauderdale was cancelled and now I have to stay another night on the beachfront.

I did use this site to look for the flight that was coming down here and it didn't show--now I know why, iT wasn't in the air. I will use this again.

Sorry to hear that Nate1. I will log onto that Air Traffic website and clear your flight for take off. Give me a few minutes and then check back with me here.

I appreciate the offer it was the 12:55 out of FLL. I was told of the guys here went to a SC earlier in the week in the week and bought a $300 package deal, apparently the talent was attractive but the service not so good. I didn't get chance to talk to him and get details of the package but it didn't sound worth the money.

No way, I sitting on the patio overlooking the beachfront watching the talent walk by. I'm cleared to stay another night. I know I have the snow to face tomorrow, but will make the most of it till then.:p

Interesting, but it seems t have some errors... I just clicked on a few and the routes seemed pretty odd. For example, a plane over Bracebridge was supposedly flying from Atlanta to Cincinnati, (and I suppose it could be taking a scenic route) but when I clicked on the "show route" button, it shows a London, England to Detroit flight.

Planes fly overhead my house all the time, landings and take offs. I always wonder where they're headed and if I'd want to be on the plane.

To resurrect the dead anyone else notice that flightradar24 doesn't provide information on military flights. You see something fly overhead and wonder where it is going and it is completely and totally "stealth."
