which one is the best for hotels and flights.... There are to many out there, so here's where word of mouth advertising pays off. I want to know who you use or would reccomend. I will be touring th US starting in the next 2 weeks looking for cheap flights back and forth as well as hotels here and there
any and all info is MUCH appreciated.
Thanks

I found that with Travelocity, you end up paying for the hotel ahead of time. The one time I did use it, it was a pretty good price for a very good hotel in the Chicago suburbs on a business trip.

If you have set plans for each city and don't wish to change them, then paying ahead of time may not be a problem. If you had to change the plans, then how do you go about getting refunds from Travelocity. I've never had to change my plans yet so I don't know. Just trowing that in as a question.

I've never used priceline but have heard many good things about them.

Whichever one you end up using, let us know your experience with them as well as any pros and cons you come up with.

Each has its moments, but I consistently use Hotwire over all the others for hotels and rental cars. Airfare is a crap shoot, sometimes even the airline websites beat the discounters.

Kara: travel just abt every week and found Orbitz to be the best as far as US flights are concerned. US Airways, Continental, Delta, United and Air Tran have a cooperative effort which allows one to use connecting flights from each airline as if you were flying on one.

I have found best airline flights often going direct to the airlines sites which often have specials that beat the usual sites.

For hotels, all the site are usually within a dollar or so, at least in my experience...except of course Priceline which I love for certain cities where I know which hotels are in what area.

For example my favoirte Radisson Missasuga is the only 3 star in the Mississauga area that is active and I always get if for about $US30/night or less. Very nice and free high speed Internet in area with easy access at least to where I want to go.

In Hamilton while I don't like downtowns with all the traffic the Sheridan hotel is very nice at it I got it for $US47/night last month.

Same thing in the U.S. great bargains. In Buffalo NY staying at the Airport Qualtiy Inn in another week, for $US40/night and have used them in Tucson and Denver.. but frankly I travel more to Canada than the U.S. !

WOW

thanks guys!!

Another example... used Priceline for this trip staying at Comfort Inn just off the QEW in St Catharines (not too far from PE55 where Terb party will be this coming Thursday.

I got it on Priceline for $US38/night for 2 nights. whiich is $CAD50 vs their "rack" rate of $CAD99.95 or discounted at $CAD79.95 from websites.
