To make a long story short......

No it is not about those pesky Monarchs or moths.

This is starting to freak me out. For a couple of weeks I have been interested in this lady at work, we have chatted a bit during lunch and smoke breaks etc., and she seems like a pretty cool chick and is quite a looker too (at least in my opinion). So last week I asked her out, the vibes seemed alright, and I'm pertty sure she is single. Her reply "Maybe". Ok, I can live with this, at least there was no full blown laughing, and she seemed sincere about it. If she says ok, cool, if not oh well.

So here is my problem. I had those farking butterflies in my stomach the whole time, still do when I think about her. What the hell!!! I have not had these since I was 12 years old and in grade eight, 25 years ago. It's not like I am totally head over heels for the girl. Why am I so nervous over this? It's not like I have never asked a girl out before.

And while I am at it, what the fuck are these? Is it nerves, hormones, adreneline? Anyone have any answers? Somehow I kind of like them, in a weird sort of way. For years I have wondered if I would ever get them again, well I got my answer. I feel like a school kid again for chris' sakes. Anyone else had this happen in recent times? How did you deal with it?

if you're this nervous to talk to her, then what's going to happen when you're ready to ____ her a little , and then ________ a couple of times, with her _________ watching.

go slow, and enjoy these feelings.

When you don't get nervous or anxious over women, it does ruin a lot of the fun, just seems to easy, and the thrill is gone.

stages of love

well a 1 heres the facts on love :p hope it helps !

so far your in stage 1 which explains your butterflies

Physical Attraction - happens when your body reacts to another person. Heart rate increases; temperature rises, palms get sweaty; stomach flutters; throat tightens; etc. This is the most superficial of "loves" on one level, but one of the most powerful on another. It represents the first contact

Emotional Attraction - develops next if the circumstances are right. After being drawn to a person physically, you then begin to converse. If you find you have things in common -- hobbies, ideologies, career, education, or some other common ground -- then an emotional attraction starts to form.

An emotional attraction can also occur even when a physical attraction does not. And in this case, the bond may even be stronger between the two who connect, since no preconceived notions based on physical appearance has occurred.

Stage 2
ROMANCE - essentially an act of trying to influence or gain favor of another by lavishing attention or gifts upon them. There are two type of romance selfish romance & selfless romance.

Selfish Romance - occurs when you do romantic acts solely for the purpose of gaining something for yourself -- like to get gifts, to impress someone else, or even simply for sexual favors whether your partner is interested or not.

Selfless Romance - occurs when you do romantic acts for the enjoyment and pleasure of your partner. You receive your enjoyment and pleasure through their happiness.

Selfish romance & love will quickly die out. Selfless romance & love will endure. Because romance is an "act" many couples who have been together a long time take it for granted. With a conscious effort, it can be rekindled.

PASSION - a desire for another person, which has grown to an intensity that can't be ignored. This is often where an emotional relationship turns into a physical relationship. The passion stage is very important. It's a plateau.

From here, the relationship will fork into two roads, and the couple must decide which path to take. The relationship will either burn itself out or will move onto the next stage.

Stage 4

INTIMACY - a close association with another person of the deepest nature. You share you thoughts, your feelings, your dreams. In true intimacy, there is nothing that you cannot tell this person (though we often hesitate because of our own unfounded fears).

Intimacy is not total in one swoop. It is a developing process, which never ends. If you can't establish intimacy with your partner, your relationship may work for a while, but is unlikely to endure throughout the years.

Stage 5
COMMITMENT- a pledge to remain true to your mate throughout good and bad times. Commitment is easy when times are good. Commitment can be extremely difficult when times are bad. Learn to ride out the bad times.

If you've made it this far, why give up? Listen to each other, be willing to compromise, and remember why you got together in the first place.

Love is worth the effort ...

Ok, I'm trying to fill in the blanks here..... I'm not nervous when I talk to her and Ive never had a problem making "moves" when the time is right. Just a weird butterfly feeling.

Love, I don't think so. Maybe a bit of infatuation and wanting to nail her, but not love.

Blah, blah, blah...
Now this makes sense, strange that it has not happened to me in the past 25 years though. Fark, I hope I don't need therapy.
