is this the one they brought in Lexus engineers to design it to be the most reliable super sports car on the market? I remember reading about that about a month or so ago.

I swear to gawd...

...every time I mange to convince myself "ok...look at what these things are going for now...that is just crazy...there is no way you can afford that...don't be silly" Ferrari or someone else brings out a ride that if I were to REALLY REALLY REALLY stretch I could make it fit into my finances.

I am convinced they do this just to torment me.

So...if I am driving one of these things, but all my dates end up back at my new place in Rexdale dining on Kraft Dinner will chicks still like me?

That car is a chick magnet, just stating that you drive a Ferrari in a conversation would get you a multitude of chicks. However, I think Ferrari's are overpriced. Best sportscar in the world hands down, dollar for dollar is the Corvette. There is simply no better value out there.

Actually I think it's kinda boring. Where is the "ENZO" Pizzaz, or for that matter what about a 1962 Ferrari GT California. That has some serious Magnetizm going on IMHO.

Yeah because it has leaf springs (the same thing you'd find on an ox cart), a low tech engine and a steering wheel off of one of their trucks...PASS.

$/thrill is not a bad deal but only because they cheaped out in too many places and for a GT car it shouldnt be "cheap"....and it is NOT the best sportscar in the world.

I think the Exige is a far better value if we are talking about pure sports cars (which the Vette is not)

Mongrel: get yourself out to a track that runs solo events: Time trials: Cars race against the clock not against each other. The Vette kicks ass against the best Porshe has to offer on the straights and in the corners. BWM's lose every time against the Vette. I cannot think of a production car that will outperform the Vette on the track. Have never competed against the exotics but generally exotics start at $250K and up. The standard Vette can be had for around $64K Cdn. The upgraded Vette (more) HP is even faster.

The Vette does not come with a lot of electronic toys it is a driver's car. Some people order this car with auto tranny they are idiots. The 08 Vette is one hot ride. Cheers GB

its a GT car... like most others
Ok, so what do you consider a "pure" sportscar?

One with nothing in it but an engine, drive train, one seat and a body?

BTW: the original sports cars had leaf springs but this ferrari doesn't. It has a multi-link rear suspension made from aluminum.

Not that I care really lol.

Lotus Exige is a good example.

back in the day of the original sports car leaf springs were the shit...

Your kidding right? You sound like a GM hater. I went on yahoo autos and looked at some specs. The Exige is a good car, but with the Corvette you get double the horsepower for around the same price. I've watched the Vette being made at the plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and those are not crap parts. I think upon closer inspection, that you'd be singing a different tune about the Vette.

"A sports car is a type of automobile designed for sporting performance. While opinions differ as to the exact definition, most sports cars have two seats and two doors, and are designed to excel at a combination of acceleration, top speed, braking, and maneuverability. Great emphasis is often placed on handling —the ability of the driver to remain in control of the car under challenging conditions such as when the car's tires begin to lose their grip on corners. "

But hey, you say toMAYto I say toMATo, in the end it amounts to about a pinch of raccoon shit really lol.....

But if you're talking the "best", the exige is a POS compared to the Veyron.....

GT3 could beat it, 911T could beat it, Lotus Exige would demolish it and its around the same price...The new M3 would beat a C6 around a track so would an RS4
