Mongrel: like I said, take a trip to the tracks and see for yourself.Mongrel4u said:GT3 could beat it, 911T could beat it, Lotus Exige would demolish it and its around the same price...The new M3 would beat a C6 around a track so would an RS4

A sports car isnt necessarily about "power"....and figure the Exige has half the power but is quicker.Plan B said:Your kidding right? You sound like a GM hater. I went on yahoo autos and looked at some specs. The Exige is a good car, but with the Corvette you get double the horsepower for around the same price. I've watched the Vette being made at the plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and those are not crap parts. I think upon closer inspection, that you'd be singing a different tune about the Vette.
Hold on... I didnt say the Exige was "the best"...I think its one of the best VALUEtboy said:But if you're talking the "best", the exige is a POS compared to the Veyron.....
I have been... the C6 cannot out do those cars...it always gets edged out in handling...not that its a bad handling car.. because its pretty good but not as good as those mentionedgreat bear said:Mongrel: like I said, take a trip to the tracks and see for yourself.
"Its not bad": sounds like some of the women I have seen lately. Cheers GBMongrel4u said:Dont get me wrong guys... I think the Vette is not bad....but its not SO so hot and although it is good value, it is not the best value.
Its ...not bad
Yeah buttboy said:Well, as for being quicker, or the performance of a vehicle, it is all about power to weight ratio, balance etc so while a vehicle may be quicker out of the hole, it may not be as stable at speed.
Now as for all the other comparisons, let's look at cost and reliability etc. You can drive a vette day in and day out and I even knew someone who drove their's in the winter. Try that with a lotus.
Read my point again.. I said that its not quite so much the fact that they share parts as much as it is the fact that they are sharing the WRONG parts. Yeah other manufacturers do this but you'll never notice because they do it right...bu twith the Vette its so blatant...it just looks half assed. You can tell, in the begining they were putting all this thought and care into it and at some point they just said..."ah..fuck it".As for sharing parts with other models, what is your point? Every manufacturer does that to some extent. For instance: if you have a good seat, who cares if it's on a chevette AND a corvette? Same as the 3 pont seat belt. If the anchors need to be designed to meet a DOT spec, and all vehicles have to meet or exceed that spec, why WOULDN'T a manfacturer make one part for all vehicles?
The new GTR will hand the Vette (and most other cars) it's lunch.Plan B said:That car is a chick magnet, just stating that you drive a Ferrari in a conversation would get you a multitude of chicks. However, I think Ferrari's are overpriced. Best sportscar in the world hands down, dollar for dollar is the Corvette. There is simply no better value out there.
And porsche for power to weight.tboy said:Well, as for being quicker, or the performance of a vehicle, it is all about power to weight ratio, balance etc so while a vehicle may be quicker out of the hole, it may not be as stable at speed.
