hey bella
that really sucks
i switched from fido to bell about 2 years ago and i've had no problems since!
it seems that ever since rogers bought out fido, fido customers have had problems and i know a few of them!
my buddy had to get his SIM Card reprogrammed and now he has no trouble with fido.

anyways i hope you get it fixed

have a good one :)

You can try taking the SIM card out and then putting it back in. Sometimes that works. It could also be your battery, depending on how long you've had the phone.

I've had my FIDO for years (far too long, IMO) and it still works fine.

Fido

I'm on Fido. Reception is terrible in GTA but amazingly clear outside of Canada.

Network switching from Fido to Rogers, your SIM/phone may not be adjusting to the freq change. Try Kee's suggestion shut-off phone & remove sim as it will force your phone to find the freq.

Few people I know had to take it into local dealer. In your phone user guide, there's an option to manually select Service provider signal, instead of Auto search. That's what they did at the dealers to correct the problem.

Few dealer in Chinatown or Market Village/Pacific mall likely open today as mall open. You may want to call 1st before you go. I'm sure many gentlemen would like to see the you in person.

Fido

Actually, I've found Fido's reception in the GTA to be fine. Been on the network for going on 4 years now.

Yeah, the other day I checked voicemail a couple times and got charged at 25 cents a minute when it should have been only 5 cents a minute using Fido pay-as-you-blow at around 8pm.

Called Fido and they credited me the $1, but she said tech team would need 24-48 hours to look into why that happened. WTF???

burnt sim card

Did you have a pin # on your sim? If you did and your phone prompted you to enter it and you put it in wrong a few times it will then ask you for a PUK code. A PUK code is something only your provider can give you. If you attempted to enter the PUK code and failed after so many times it fries yours SIM card. It's a security feature incase someone takes your phone and attempts to use your sim to make calls. I heard for rogers it fries your sim after 5 wrong attempts and fido is 10. I hope you didn't have all your contact stored on the sim.
