Fifa has released a statement branding a supporter who broke into the England dressing room as "totally unacceptable".

The FA have made an official complaint to the world governing body following the incident, where an angry fan managed to breach security and confront Fabio Capello's side, getting close to star men Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney.

Despite being quickly ejected from the changing room after Friday's goalless draw with Algeria in Cape Town, the severity of what could have been will be more apparent, especially with Princes William and Harry having visited the dressing room earlier that evening.

Rooney, who failed to live up to expectation in what was an immensely disappointing evening as England failed to get going, was already frustrated with supporters who booed the team off and was caught on camera saying : "It's nice to see your own fans booing you."

In a statement released by Nicolas Maingot, a spokesman for the world governing body, he was damning in his assessment to allow the supporter to break in.

"It is totally unacceptable for FIFA that a fan can find his way to the dressing room of any team in any FIFA competition," he said.

"This has been discussed this morning at the daily security meeting of the local organisers, police and FIFA.

"Security will be tight to ensure it will never happen again."

It remains to be seen whether England will make it through what has been a traumatic start to their World Cup campaign with so much expectation, but the FA will be making sure security is watertight ahead of their final game in Group C against Slovenia, where they must achieve victory to secure qualification.

thats pretty incredible that a fan could get into a change room so easily.
Also incredible is Roony's reaction to the fans booing. wtf does he expect. He an England have stunk the joint out!
roughly 30,000 english supporters made the trip to South Africa to see the shit England are giving them on the field
they have a right to boo

why didnt he throw a vuvuzela at the team??? perhaps then we would have gotten the miracle that we have been praying for, and a total ban on these freaking things!! I honestly cannot wait to see this World Cup over and to never have to hear those things again.
