Has anyone ever filed a complaint with the sec over handling of funds? I invested 12k for 1.06 a share (I thought) in a supposed start up. This was in oct/22, at the time I filled out the paperwork, sent money and thought all was good. I contacted them about a week ago. They told me that the offering was a failed offer and in fact my money was sitting in an escrow account and they could offer me at 1.25 now.
Had I not contacted them I probably never would have known and was that their way of scrambling to say the money was somewhere? I'm looking at filing an sec complaint however when I filled out the paperwork I lied about my net worth, they said that was typical. If I did file would that come back to bite me? They are usa company and usd?
Anyone smarter than me have any advice? Could I get a lawyer to write them a demand letter to try and get 100k out of them?
