When was the last time you saw 30-foot walls of water tearing through that region, Wyatt? You and your MAGA crew can stick your heads in the sand or up Trump's nasty diapered ass all you want, but this is climate change, plain and simple.

The Guadalupe River surged from 3 feet to 30 feet in a matter of hours, devastating summer camps and low-lying communities. That’s not just a flash flood, that’s a climate-fueled disaster.

The overwhelming rainfall is yet another consequence of rising global temperatures, driving more frequent, violent, and unpredictable extremes. But sure, let’s pretend it’s just "weather," yes of course, because climate change is a left-wing conspiracy theory created to bleed taxpayers? LMAO

The Guadalupe River, which runs along several summer camps, rose from about 3 feet to 30 feet on Friday.

The overwhelming rainfall is another example of rising global temperatures pushing weather toward extremes, events that are becoming more and more frequent.
Keep spinning and you will end up blaming Trump...

Mister I started the thread. I can talk the shit I want.

You pointed out that there was historic issue but the governing officials have not done shit in years and years.

Worst as they cut anything related to science and climate change.

The state would not have to build tombstones for 30 little white girls if they had acted like they should of.
Congratulations on starting a thread.
Of course, you can't be unaware that when someone responds to me I am not interested twisting back on the discussion to some off ramp (broad climate change discussion).

As it stands now, implications against the Federal govt. have not held as demonstrated on this thread.

I was trying to find where Jalimon's reference originated. It also came to this Houston woman. Apparently as part of broad disgust, the Democratic Houston Mayor removed her.

So first, I have not seen any facts to back up any of this woman's claims. It's possible, but find it more than extraneous as they pull bodies out of the water.

Secondly, the perversity of the original comment here and other's race obsessions in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy is more than disturbing. Hence her removal by the Houston Mayor.

That's all they do...they are so quick to call out "conspiracy theory" but do are notorious for those.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. Racism exists, and in my opinion, always has and always will.

I don't blame climate change on Trump, I do blame him for being a dumbass and believing it's a major problem. I blame him for cuts in the weather forecast department, cuts all across the departments that helped folks. He wanted to cut FEMA and guess who is at the forefront of this tragedy? If 30 ft walls of water do not tell you it's real, then nothing will til it hits you on a personal level.

At the same time, it happened in a red state. Maybe next time, some will rethink about voting for Repugs.

I would bet if this happened in a blue state, Trump would be throwing barbs and doing nothing to help.

At this time, it has no relative importance to the drowning deaths of over 100 people.

Granted, it does not! Death doesn't discriminate. The question is, was the state responsible for the lack of warning systems, and Trump's Doge for unnecessary cuts?

Did Trump's DOGE gut the weather service and removed key personnel that could have issued warnings/alerts that might have mitigated the natural disaster?

The answer: Maybe, but we honestly don't know. Local officials are blaming the federal agency....but are they doing that because they dropped the ball? It could be both. And, let's face it, the DOGE cuts are sure to have some impact on the early warning system. I mean, it isn't like the US is a tiny country with one weather pattern. But, Texas is sort of used to have heavy rain. I recall about a decade ago they had similar flash floods but fewer deaths, but it is not easy to compare the size and scale of those disasters (though I remember hearing a report saying the state got so much rain in such a short period of time it could have sunk the state in 3 inches of water)...

Here's another thing to consider: Texas is a GOP state. Its state leaders are Republicans, the Senators and and congress people are Republican. Did they do enough to help with the aftermath? We know Trump was golfing in Florida and Ted Cruz was in Greece. Now, as much as I despise Cruz, I am not going to slam him for being out of the country, because what could he really do if he was there, besides grandstand and probably get in the way...And, there was a press conference either on Sunday or Monday where Gov. Abbott and Kristi Noem spent the first 30 minutes congratulating themselves and Trump on the response....before getting into the important information. It's like they felt the needed to kiss the Dear Leader's ass to ensure FEMA support...an organization that is now run by a dude who didn't realize there was a hurricane season...

Is there anything Texas should have done? Like created flood paths and what not to either contain or mitigate these types of floods? I mean, California got raked over the coals due to their apparently poor forestry management. Can we say the same thing about Texas? I mean, it's not like this doesn't happen every year...
