Bernie Ecclestone says Formula One will return to Montreal next season.

The Canadian Grand Prix was taken off the F1 calendar this year after a contractual dispute.

But Ecclestone, the head of the F1 circuit, said in today's edition of Motorsport Aktuell magazine that "we'll be driving in Montreal again in 2010."

Great news in my opinion. It is always a fun event.

I was not aware Formula 1 could get more boring then it already is.

a fantastic time to be in montreal.

Was in Monteal for the F1 race in 2008 and was afraid it would be my last. Here's some video I took:

Anyone know who the redhead is in the black skirt dancing? About 25 seconds in.

The casino in the middle of the track is a nice touch. Do you think they will resurface the track? The track conditions seemed to be the biggest complaint from drivers.

Hey Jeff,

Ticket ranges are quiet big. What price range would you recommend? I understand they have big screen tvs? I mean do you have to constantly walk around? Or do they keep you updated from all points using tv?

In other words what section would be best value? Thanks.

I was there for that race too, Jeff. A fantastic time. Great race, great people watching, great parties, hot women everywhere. I don't know if Toronto could pull this off - nor would I want the traffic in our fair city

I was at the 2006 race & had a gold ticket. I was located at the start/finish line, across the pits. Great location.

I paid about $250 ea for the cheapest seats in the house. And would do it again.

I look at racetracks a little differently. I have been to just about every form of motor racing. From F1 to go-karts. From NASCAR super speedways to local dirt tracks.

I had 2 of the cheapest seats in Montreal (see my video) and loved them. I am there for the race atmosphere and NOT to sit in the same seat for 2-3 hrs. I live near Watkins Glen NY (NASCAR this weekend http://www.theglen.com/) which is a lot like the Montreal track, but without the casino. It too used to have F1 until the early 70's. I enjoy being able to walk around yet have the big screens everywhere. The "jumbo screens" are the same as the live TV feed. The couple days of practice and qualifying is almost as much fun as the race but without all the people.

I also record it at home on my TV to watch later at home.

Just go and have fun. Walk around the track for the various views. Unlike any car I had experienced, the sound from F1's at top speed is deafening and unbelievable!!

In going to the race during the late 1990's, I think the best valued section was the silver seats in hairpin. It was arranged so that you were at the outside of the apex and the video screen was right across from you. You were able to see cars come in from a good distance, brake and then accelerate out. There was some passing and usually drivers made an effort to stop and signal to the fans at the end of the race such as Jean Alesi fishtailing for the fans during his last race there.

As for TO getting the race, I would only hope the same clowns who ran this year's IRL would not be involved. What a series of clusters.

I love Montreal and Watkins Glen NY. I live in NY about 30 miles frome WG. The Nascar Race is there today. Don't care for street courses or ovals.

Funny thing today. Right after the Canadian National Anthem a priest says a prayer. The race is sponsored by "Helluva Good Cheese"!! He kinda chuckled when he said "Helluva Good" in his prayer.
