its amazing all you Republican bashers are touting Fox aka Faux News when it suits your agenda....hypocrites.

Yes it's clear Palin is not very well versed on foreign issues and that was the downfall of the Repubs. Personally, I think they chose her to tank the Presidency. Why, because after 4 years of Obama the electorate will be begging for Bush, that's how bad it will be. Think Bob Rae but on a global scale.

Oh, that man [Joe Biden] does like to talk, and out his ass... How does America's first black(ish) President stay alive? "Leave me alone or you'll have to listen, listen, and listen some more to him." :)
Somewhat like the joke during the administration of President G.H.W. Bush - how can you tell a Democrat in church on Sunday? They’re the ones fervently praying for the President of the United States - they’re afraid of getting Quayle

Tuesday night Governor Richardson of New Mexico, (U.S. Ambasador to the United Nations & Secretary of Energy in the Clinton Administration) and a serious contender to become Secretary of State in the Obama Adminstration was being interviewed regarding the election and big as life said "when I was talking with the president of Spain."
Give me a break. The two are not even remotely comparable. 3rd graders have ehough sense to know that Africa is a continent for Christsakes. You don't have to continue to be an apologist for the ditz, she's off back in Moose Land where she'll hopefully stay. World dodged a bullet indeed.

"The King of Spain's daughter wants to marry me, And all because of my little nut tree." Humn I think that was actually First or Second Grade

How will Governor Palin fare in the future - I have no idea. As I've already said very likely there will be candidates I prefer far better at that time. However it was her first time running for national office.

Vice-President-Elect Biden has been a member of the United States Senate for over three decades - yet he continues to make spectacular gaffes if not outright wrong-headed decisions.

Ambassador Richardson was U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations arguably the fourth highest post in the Department of State.

Presumably Governor Palin can and will learn.

And possibly advance to the 4th grade level. Sorry, but I think comprehending basic geography is a tad more important then some rhyme about an Englishman's nut tree. Obviously we went to different schools.

So do I. However hopefully you are aware that almost all nursery rhymes contain historical lessons and are based on historical incidents.

If you aren't, purchase an annotated Mother Goose.

If, however, you think that getting an continent and country confused (“third grade) and failing to remember the basic political system of a country (contained in a rhyme second grade) aren’t roughly the same. Good luck and God speed.

I’m not saying Governor Palin is an intellectual powerhouse. But some of these comments are ridiculous.

Well, at least we got that far, and beyond nursery rhymes. If you feel comfortable with someone like Palin, who if not outright dumb is truly ignorant, then knock yourself out.

TERB is not a particularly great venue for explaining nuanced differences.

If you think a former Ambassador & potential Secretary of State messing up the titles of foreign Heads of Government isn't both humourous and indicative of the fact people make mistakes.

But a Governor of a State who has never before run for national office

ALLEGEDLY

Getting South Africa and Africa mixed up is deathly serious and obviously true and not a mistake but indicative of the Governor's basic intelligence.

Wow.

I don't think that Palin can be blamed for McCain losing. If he had been ahead, he would have gone with a safer choice - Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani or someone like that. It was because he knew he was screwed that he went for a long shot. She did ok, he got what he was looking for, but she could not change the fact that he was way behind at the time.

I think that Obama will be great, as long as he does not screw up on a Bush scale. Yes, he is somewhat of a lefty who may raise taxes, but that will be more than made up for by him being African-American. It will now be possible to say to people to stop whining, that if he can be President, then you can find someone to hire you, etc.

Sarah Palin may have lost her bid to be Vice President - but she was still the talk of America last night.

She apparently did not know that Africa was a continent, not a country, and was also unable to name the nations in the vitally important North American Free Trade Agreement.

There are only three. Her own, its northern neighbour Canada and its southern neighbour Mexico.

The 44-year- old former Republican running mate's lack of general knowledge - and a storm over her designer wardrobe - emerged as she returned to her home state of Alaska.

Extraordinary details of bitterness and jealousy between the Alaska governor and John McCain were laid bare following their White House defeat.

McCain aides complained that Mrs Palin refused to be coached before TV interviews - - even after it emerged she wasn't sure about Africa's status in the world.

Republican bosses also complained that Mrs Palin and her family spent even more on new clothes and shoes than previously reported.

One McCain aide described the Palin family shopping spree in some of America's most exclusive department stores as 'Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast.'

According to Newsweek magazine, a party donor who agreed to foot the clothes bill was expecting to pay out up to £15,000.

He was stunned when he received the bill for nearly £100,000. And that wasn't even the whole tab, it was revealed yesterday.

Mrs Palin also allegedly leaned on some of her low-level handlers to put thousands of pounds worth of additional purchases on their personal credit cards.

Aides claimed a Republican Party lawyer is now being dispatched to Alaska to inventory the clothes and retrieve any still in the governor's possession.

Divide: Sarah Palin watches as John McCain gives his concession speech early Wednesday morning. She allegedly wanted to speak during the speech, but was barred from doing so

Mrs Palin denied the claims yesterday, laughing of suggestions that she lived a 'diva lifestyle' in Alaska.

'The knives are out and Sarah's getting filleted,' one U.S. television network reported yesterday.

The Republican contenders for president and vice-president barely spoke to each other in the lead-up to election day and indulged in a sixweek-civil war, it was claimed.

The ill-fated pair began to fall out only a fortnight later in mid-September, insiders revealed yesterday.

Just getting started: Sarah Palin waves to supporters as she returns home to Alaska... to shouts of '2012!'

Mrs Palin's aides hit back, claiming she was naive about designer labels and outraged when she found out how much her suits and dresses cost. Spending by staff was reimbursed, they said.

They also revealed she was enraged by leaks from officials dubbing her a 'whack job' - slang for mad.

Last week's hoax call from a Canadian comic who convinced her she was talking to French leader Nicolas Sarkozy caused fresh aggravation because she conducted diplomacy on the hoof - and then failed for three days to tell the McCain team she'd been hoodwinked.

The Alaska governor tried to counter backlash against her shopping spree by appearing in jeans on more than one occasion - including on the day she voted

There was a striking metaphor for the doomed partnership when the pair went their separate ways on Wednesday afternoon. Mr McCain, 72, drove himself away from their hotel base in Phoenix, Arizona, in his own Toyota.

But Mrs Palin and 18 family members left in a motorcade stretching to a dozen vehicles flanked by a dozen police motorcycle outriders.

It was more proof, according to McCain aides, that her ambition had stretched way beyond the job in hand as she focused on running for President herself in four years.

She had even intended to deliver her own speech just before Mr McCain's concession address on Tuesday - an unprecedented move - before being firmly told it was out of the question.

The GOP wants her in 2012 they can have her. I can't believe they would be so incredibly stupid to continue to promote this woman.

Yes, and if he wanted to win he would have run Lieberman and rejected the bailout. Yes his base would have been pissed but he would have made up for it with the independents, and his base had no place to go-- The bailout would have been golden, because he would have gotten 'main street' and angry. (And then he could go ahead and basically do the bailout to save the global rich [Yay for us in CA] on the backs of the American poor and middle class.)

Rightwing Nutter 101: Science is librul. So is history. So is geography when it causes people to ask why they did what where. Math might be librul if used to quantify regressive taxation or social inequity. Then there's that appalling lack of Jesus of the M-16.

It would be a refreshing change to see someone put their name to accusations. Gets tiring to constantly read about information from "top aides" or "unnamed sources".

Anyone who had anything to do with Palin as a VP running mate ought to be extremely embarrassed and should apologize to the world for their stupidity !
