I pass through the Main St and Ferry St area of the Falls on the regular. In the last 3 months I have had to pull over for at least 7 Funeral Processions. Today when I pulled over, the 2 cars and old beat up pickup truck just carried on. No stopping or slowing down.

Are we just at a day an age where pulling over is not longer necessary?

Should we even be doing 30 or 40 car processions in this day an age. Can we not just all meet at the grave site in 30 mins?

I still pull over out of respect, buts it’s getting a little much lately.

If they don't have police escorts, they need to follow the rules the same as everyone.

With so many cars having day time running lights it's hard to tell who is and who isn't in the funeral procession. Most people turn on their 4 ways. Once I see a car with no 4 ways on I go on my way.

The last four funerals Ive been to we were instructed to put our 4 ways on. Most Police Services do not offer motorcycle escorts anymore due to an Officer being seriously injured a few years ago.

Funerals have always been a racket. Same with cars...

I will never forget being in a funeral procession and staring out the window of the car I was in in sort of a tuned out melancholy for my friend who had died. As we were driving in the procession to the cemetery we crossed paths with an older Asian gentleman on foot. As long as I live I will never forget that as we passed he stopped walking, removed his cap, placed it on his chest and stood up straight as we all drove past as a jesture of his respect for a fellow human being.

Now that can only best be described as dignified behaviour and showed what he was made of.

Exactly. Unless every car is marked and lead by police, it is business as usual. There are just too many cars on the road now. Too many lights breaking up the line. Just go to the grave site.

Processions should be dead person and immediate family only. Parents/kids. Brothers/sisters, grandkids, aunt and uncles and friends can just meet there.

With GPS on every phone today, just meet at the grave site would be a lot more respectful.
