There is a thread here regarding a W5 or CTV show where they tested HDMI cables and found the less expensive ones equal to pricey ones. Do a search if you like, it's all been discussed before.
I will agree that HDMI will give you superior performance compared to DVI or component cables, at least my experience says so. I passed on he $100 FS/Best Buy cables and got one for 40 at Walmart when I needed one 3 years ago. Still works great.
