You know..I remember as a kid, going down to drive up and down Jarvis, the odd guy getting the nerve up to "Get me one of those girls:cool:"

Was the thing to do back then..........

Is there a greater risk of getting an STD from a SW? I have often thought of it just for the thrill, but for LE reasons, I have stepped back. Could not afford the risk of loosing my job.

Hey "Wantoplay"...just outta curiosity....how would one lose their job if caught?

Yes, I am naive and serious.....

Anybody?
Certain professions require an 'Offense declaration' be signed annually, and the same employers also reserve the right to request (at their expense) at any time, a criminal record check, and in the same profession, sexual based offenses are grounds for immediate dismissal, and usually do end up being that way..... or so I have been told anyway. :)

I am aware of one case in the U.K. where a teacher lost his job for a "sexual offense". He was arrested for walking nude on a deserted non-nude beach at night and it was upsetting the wildlife.:(

I really do think it's way overdue for everything to be legalized and taxed behind closed doors, not in glass windowcases or parlours or street corners. I find all of that so depressing, and it lowers the general populations opinion of both providers and clients. This is a career, not a job, that I personally truly adore.... In my scenario, it's supposed to be all about glamorous worldy sophisticated women and playboys arranging discreet liasons in posh hotels, pethouses, mansions, travel, with celebrities thrown in the mix, not about drug addicts, illegal alien parlour slaves, and finding the lowest price for exploitation. Any working class guy can save for a month to be with a quality, safe woman, rather than seek cheap sleaze at the expense of the desperate ones. Amsterdam has Europe's lowest crime rate per capita, and collects billions in tax dollars. North American society is pathetically hypocritical. Sorry but it's just how I really feel.
I agree, and WOULD LOVE for you to be my first LEGAL SP!! :)

"Illegal" CONSENSUAL ADULT sex behind closed doors is such an oxymoron. Homos are allowed to do it, birds and bees are allowed to do it, why can't we? So what if money and/or some beaver pelts change hands.

Selina, it IS legalized, done in comfort and taxed now, but some guys want it cheap, quick and dirty. There are women who are desperate who will cater to them.
What is the solution?

I'm pretty sure most of these cases get tossed, anyway.

I was in court years ago (no, I wasn't facing charges) and I saw a number of these cases come up. In each one, the judge asked the john if he realized the errors of his ways, the john said yes, and the case was dismissed.

Not sure if that's how it works now but I suspect it's smarter to go to court than John School. In fact, I think Rosie DiManno of the Toronto Star once wrote a column making that point.

In this latest case, I feel sorry for the cab drivers. Some of those guys work obscenely long hours -- they have to do something to ease the tension, as it were.

Third time round - I made eye contact and stopped. She came over, asking what I was looking for ("the usual, bj and sex"). Then she asked "how much are you going to pay?".

I replied "fifty dollars?" (I didn't even know the street rate)

She immediately strolled off and two guys came out of a parked SUV behind. They showed their badges, asked me for ID etc., and then informed me that I have broken the law for soliciting.
I had a similar experience. When she brought up the money issue while still on the curb, leaning in the window of my car, warning light went off.
I smiled and said I misunderstood. I thought you were hitchhiking.
I do not know for sure if she was apart of a sting, but I got the feeling and got out of the area.

I was very lucky indeed. When I had my prints taken I thought I was fukkkkked. Then the judge stated that I got a warning and did not have a record, I was a little relieved but not completely convinced.

Until about three years later, I applied for a government job and needed a criminal record check from the regional police. I got that letter done in about 1/2 hour (probably just a computer search), and I was clean.

I believe my name is in the police file / record forever (this is the computer age). the only consolation is that there is no criminal record. If I get caught again in anything related to solicitation, I will / may get a criminal record.

As moviefan said, most of these cases, particularly first time offenders, gets a warning and then tossed out - the court cannot afford to prosecute all these types of minor offenses.

No there was no john school twenty years ago, so I didn't have to waste my time.

One thing I do know from working in IT, nothing 'goes away forever' when dealing with the police. The only questions are what comes up on the various levels of checks and what can be used against you in a court of law. Something about jackboots and record keeping. :)

Actually, Ontario's Privacy Commissioner just did a huge report on this with respect to jury duty (and how many police forces were providing way too much information to the courts in may cases giving more informative classes of reports).

The police don't lose data, it's just a question if they can use that data against you in court or if it shows up on the most minimal version of a criminal record check.
