One woman poisoned her husband with aquarium cleaner and tried to blame it on Trump.

That’s it.

There are countless examples in multiple countries of this drug working.

Irrelevant and your TDS is showing.

This is about professional practicing doctor advice and not your attempts to smear trump with your TDS.

No doctor is recommending what your are suggesting above and trying to recontextualize the discussion. Can’t you focus at all?

So why aren’t these PROFESSIONAL DOCTORS who are prescribing this in their clinics not being sued, arrested, charged and their medical license being take away?
Perhaps , maybe just maybe because the Townhall is a Right-Wing looney tune mouthpiece? Just maybe??

As of July 26, 2020.

Results of new clinical trial published late last week have found that hydroxychloroquine – the malaria and autoimmune disease drug that President Donald Trump promoted as a potential “game changer” early in the Covid-19 pandemic – not only failed to improve outcomes in those with mild-to-moderate disease, but also produced a higher rate of cardiac and liver side effects.

Results of the randomized, controlled, open-label Phase III trial, which took place at more than two dozen sites in Brazil, were published in the New England Journal of Medicine on Thursday. The study randomized 667 patients to receive hydroxychloroquine or the drug plus the antibiotic azithromycin on top of standard of care or standard of care alone. When patients were measured on the seven-point ordinal scale of improvement in disease, those in the two hydroxychloroquine groups showed no improvement compared with patients who received standard of care alone. Moreover, those receiving hydroxychloroquine more frequently experienced Qt prolongation and elevation of liver enzymes.

Among patients hospitalized with mild-to-moderate Covid-19, the use of hydroxychloroquine, alone or with azithromycin, did not improve clinical status in 15 days as compared with standard care,” the authors wrote.

The results add to the growing body of evidence not supporting treatment of Covid-19 with hydroxychloroquine, an analogue of chloroquine, which has also been explored without success in Covid-19. Last month, the Food and Drug Administration revoked an emergency use authorization that it had granted to the drug in late March, a move that had been criticized as motivated more by politics than by science.

And yet for every study that shows it doesnt work, there's another that shows it does have an effect:

I have a simple approach to such dilemmas. You do you and I do me. If I get it, my doc is writing me a prescription for the HCQ post haste because if it works, it will help me. And if it doesn't, what difference does it make- since nothing else does?

Dont know if you guys have clued in yet, but it was Trump who originally touted HCL, but because it was him they now want that drug to fail and not be prescribed at all, just so Trump cant be right.

Think about it, they're willing to let patients die just so Trump wont score a political victory.
Their TDS is off the charts. Its unbelievable!!

They are also taking everyone's livelihoods away for something less deadly than the flu just to have Trump lose the election. Think stock market. The injustice is unreal and people are thanking them for it!

Wait until the clinical trials are done on this before considering getting a prescription for this or purchasing this from other sources.

The anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that when combined with azithromycin it has the ability to slow the growth of the virus in some people.

The good news is that there is a rush to find out the efficacy of these compounds on the corona virus. So it looks like we will know sooner more than later.

My worry is that the media will try to politicise this as they continue their electioneering assault on Trump. Thus derailing a combination of drugs that could be beneficial
Logical comment.

If Donald Trump was a so-called "stable genius" as he claims to be, he would let a medical expert take the stage and provide this basic incontrovertible analysis. Instead, he stands there like the buffoon he is making one wild statement after another. Sad.
Whether Trump should be commenting on medications or not seems to be besides the point. I think some of the medical community has an axe to grind. It's likely not just about opposing Trump's advocacy for the drug. It could be about inherent biases in drug research.

There are probably some biases there, sure. But Trump making it a culture war touchstone did fuck things up. Quietly, in the background, things are progressing as you would expect. Tests are run, people use it on the frontline, a gradual consensus that it has some usefulness early, but isn't a game changer is forming. But instead the whole thing is wrapped up in weird politics and conspiracy theories.

Hell, I could structure one right now. That press conference was phase 1 of a psy ops roll out.

Phase 1 - establish there is a cure and the links are hiding it.
Phase 2 - once that has a base of support, Trump and co shift to "the reason covid 19 killed all those people is that they denied you the cure"
Phase 3 - Only I can fix this by having a second term and I have a stockpile of HCQ already.

Is that what is going on? Probably not. That's kind of crazy. But the very fact I can propose this without falling over because it is so ridiculous is sad.

Who needs Netflix anymore when you can just watch and observe the news and make your own narratives.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but not everyone is entitled to their own facts.
Is it irrelevant when Trump proposes people drink chlorine or shine UV light inside their bodies?
Have you heard him or anyone on his team provide the simple easy to understand mechanism of the efficacy of HCQ? No
I believe Fauci has publicly said HCQ is not effective. I'm sorry, but you seem very determined to keep the spotlight on Trump.

So what is the narrative you are choosing to make here?

Are you proposing an even better conspiracy theory - that Eastmann-Kodak arranged a fake news conference to drive up stock prices? (This explaining the coordinated BOT campaign to spread the video on social media?)

That's a good one.

It could be their stock went up because it was just announced they got a huge government contract though.
