Locally the association for community living scraps computers and recovers precious metals from them, they take monitors and printers so probably would take a tv

Leave it by the curb. Some do-it-yourselfer may want it as a project. (My brother did that and ended up with a perfectly good TV for the price of an inline fuse.)

Perhaps a local high school/ College with an electronics course would take it for parts

Do the David Letterman thing and drop it off a tall building or bridge onto concrete. Looks really cool.
(Just be very carefull no one is around to get hurt)
