Good Auto Shops

Can anyone recommend a good reputable auto shop that deal with luxury automobiles.

I'm kind of sick of paying the dealership $50 just for an oil change and $300 for them to inspect my car and tell me nothing is wrong with it.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of car? If German, I recommend Horst Kroll 6098 Kingston Road in Scarborough 416-282-5689. Prsche, VW. Mercedes, BMW specialist but will also fix others. Reasobale and honest.

No, maintenance is free for the bimmer for another year or so. I have a Lexus and Infiniti, that's driving me nuts paying for schedule maintenance. So if you guys know of any auto shops that deal with Japanese imports, I would appreciate it.

The owner is Stuart Ho who has been (and may still be) the manager of Subaru Canada's rally team.

Stewart is the chief mechanic for the Subaru Canadian rally team. Can-Jam has been hired by the factory to soley do the prep work for the 3 factory sponsored cars.

As far as I know, they are not open for the public while this is happening. (I don't think they have the time anyways)

But, if you ever need work done on a Subaru when he's done, he'd be the guy to see.

Just how bad are the charges for scheduled maintenance? I don' think the savings will be that significant.

Well for example, the dealership charges around $50 for a simple oil change.

That's alot compared with Cdn Tire (Crappy Tire) charging $20 for a oil change. The only problem is Cdn Tires is not very good.

I just want a reputable auto shop that handles regular maintenace without charging ridiculous prices like the dealerships.

I went on a couple of car review boards, but most of the people use the dealership and the suggestions I got were shills.

So, I was hoping some fellow Terbites might know of one.

Thanks for the heads up on decent garages, but does anyone know if I decide to mod up the cars, say for example change the factory exhaust to Stillen. Does this add more HP? I heard it can, also it is cleaner for the environment.

it will help lower exhaust backpressure which does give better performance and slightly increased mileage. as for the environment---no effects-good or bad. the cataylitic converter is the last part of your pollution control system to effect the emissions. your resonator & muffler only controls type of sound and decibals.

Speaking of over paying for an oil change, I see in the Saturday Star that the price for *just* an oil change of the new Ferrari Enzo is a mere $800.

$800 just for the oil and filter.

Go to Jeremy's Auto on Queen Street east of Sherbourne (416) 368-3281. Not a great neighbourhood (just east of a taxicab headquarters) but his work is excellent and he's very honest and will not do anything to your car until he has given you a complete estimate and discussed the pros and cons with you. Tell him Eric sent you for I've referred many people over the years and have been using him myself since the early 80's.
