What Glamphotogrpher just said, be very careful. Remember Google Review is not a membership site such as TERB.

To be slanderous or libelous, it must be more than just an opinion and be demonstrated to be untrue. For example, "I ate at Restaurant abc123, and it was the worst food I ever ate !!", is one's personal opinion. No problem. If you say, "I ate at Restaurant abc123, the food was the worst I ever ate and it had rat fur and arsenic in it!", that is materially different. At that point you would be alleging certain FACTS, and unless those facts are proven to be true, you could be subject to claims of libel or slander, depending on whether the communication was verbal or written.

IF what you are saying is true, you can't be charged with slander or libel. Just don't make things up and you'll be fine.

Never come across this, time is too precious to waste on situations that doesn't enhance my life.

Is this a business or it's actually a person you want to leave a review on?
Is it something they did to you?
If it's a person why would you want to review them?
If they've done you wrong try to have them correct it, if they don't remember that KARMA is a bitch and it will eventually catch up to them. And that goes both ways so if you do wrong to others it will eventually catch up to you too.

If you already know it can be slanderous then you are posting something that is hurtful or false with that intent. What joy do you get out of being a liar or hurtful towards another person??

Yes as others have said, you need to tell the truth; it has to be factual.

Also, if there is a paper trail in your instance, it would be advantageous to save that paper trail.

And it would not hurt to use an anonymous gmail address coupled with a VPN.

Good suggestions.

I think it has to be pointed out that no matter where one posts that they're subject to close scrutiny. I remember a few months ago someone posted a negative review on this board and the SP in question sent an A.P.B. to her White Knights to come and defend her. From what I read the OP was being threatened with legal action. Not sure what became of it.
Anyway I think what its coming down to is that if you don't have anything nice to say then best to just not say anything at all.
