you take care of the majority that's where the focus must be the 99% matter more then the 1%
You take care of 100% when it comes to human rights. Anything less and you support human rights abuses.

This will take up a few days, pass without dissent, and that will be that. The MP's do little. Its the bureaucrats that run Canada.

again its in the grand scheme of things not important at all there are far more important things the government needs to focus on instead of trying to be the most woke

You, like everyone else (including me), have no idea why some people are gay. Further, you specifically have no idea whether it's a genetic disposition or whether it is a function of social or emotional development, a conscious choice, or a combination of these and/or other factors. Because there is no scientific consensus on this point, we are all left to our own theories. None of those theories justifies anyone to believe their own view is "right" and all other views are "wrong". You also have no idea what causes people to be confused about their sexuality (because medical science still doesn't know, and I doubt you know more than the doctors who study the issue). It's all theory.

It is merely a fact that some people are confused about their sexuality. That confusion can be the source of great emotional pain. Nothing I am saying casts any moral judgement on people in those circumstances. What the value of being straight, gay, or bi is to any individual or to society in general is neither the point here, nor of any great interest to me.

The focus of this legislation is prevent people, even people who desire it, from seeking therapy which might result in a change to their sexual orientation. People may be seeking this therapy to alleviate significant emotional pain. Whether the therapies will help is one thing, but preventing access to them seems to be closing doors for the sake of politics, not health care. That's the sort of stupid stuff this Liberal government does.
So does posting about politics on an escort review site alleviate your emotional pain ? Asking for a friend

The Liberals are focussing on it because they are pandering to a specific voter base. It has nothing to do with protecting public health. If it did, they would not have focussed their attention so narrowly on a single type of therapy.

They are idiots whose only objective is to virtue signal. It's the ONLY thing they know how to do!
So then this guy is an idiot as well according to the D. Oven Logic. Yes or No??

If "Not" can you explain why it is different from what Trudeau proposes??

It's pandering idiocy no matter which politician supports it.

I'm not a mindless cheerleader for a "team", like you are.

Okay, so now you have confirmed that you consider Erin O'Toole and all the Conservatives who support this legislations to be idiots. Thanks for your clarification!!
However, your mindset is that of Bud Plug's, and stuck in a couple of centuries ago, when it was acceptable to forcefully use such therapies to change one's sexual orientation or gender identity!!

The great news is that:

Liberals’ third attempt to ban conversion therapy looks set to pass with NDP support

This sounds like a trump answer when he's backed into a corner
Charlie doesn't even know where he is, nevermind where the corners of the room are. Charlie couldn't intellectually back someone into the corner of a triangle shaped room! If the task isn't cutting and pasting, it's outside of Charlie's skill set.

Besides, usually Trump was right when he labelled people (like Acosta) as rude.

How many times are you going to try to change the topic to forcing people to take therapy against their will?

The whole reasoning behind this bill was due to forcing people to take it against their will in the past. Very much part of the topic!!

Because the point is a person can't "consent" to torture. And this is considered torture. Its sole purpose isn't to help someone become comfortable with their being gay. Its forced conversion. There is nothing in the law that says therapy is out. It targets this as not therapy and bans it.

So we are on topic, and you are either completely misinformed or using this to perpetuate the bigotry.

So which is it?

This is a key point something the Nordic model feminist types seem to misunderstand. The courts have said you can't consent to physical harmful activities such as a street brawl or a mutually agreed fistfight in a bar room but they have also said that non harmful activities such as sexual intercourse among consenting adults is protected under the Charter as freedom of association. This is the Labaye "Swingers Club" case from Montreal where the city tried to shut down a swingers club on obscenity grounds. In fact the court said sexual activity is positive form of human pleasure unlike what they said in Malmo-Levine that while marijuana might be relatively harmless it is not positive and thus Parliament can ban it on grounds of paternalism and protecting core values.

Most of the really radical feminists have been furious about this Labaye case for years I think it helped lead to Bedford.

48 A third source of harm is the risk of physical or psychological harm to individuals involved in the conduct at issue. Sexual activity is a positive source of human expression, fulfilment and pleasure. But some kinds of sexual activity may harm those involved. Women may be forced into prostitution or other aspects of the sex trade. They may be the objects of physical and psychological assault. Sometimes they may be seriously hurt or even killed. Similar harms may be perpetrated on children and men. Sexual conduct that risks this sort of harm may violate society’s declared norms in a way that is incompatible with the proper functioning of society, and hence meet the Butler test for indecent conduct under the Criminal Code.
