Do not get a tom tom. I have a garmin and it seems to work very well. Price was 450
Why?

I got this from another board. He is talking about the Tom Tom "ONE" and the price was $169.00

thought it a good idea that I let you all know that the above GPS is on
sale at TIGER DIRECT, 8401 Woodbine Avenue, Markham, (on east side of
Woodbine Ave about 200 yards south of Hwy #7).

This unit is considered the best valued GPS in the Consumers report
magazine of Oct. 2007, it is refurbished with a full 1 year warranty and a
return policy of 30 days.
It's usually priced above $300, but at Future shop it's $299 and at The
Source it's $249. So get moving if you want it, or as they stated to me over
the phone it's a bargain basement price!

GPS, Worth their weight in Gold!…

GPS’s are fantastic. Once you own one you’ll wonder how you got around without one. There are many to choose from, and basically they all are good. Though some are better than others,, the higher the price the better the unit.

The one that I like the best is installed in my current General Motor vehicle. It has a large touch activated screen. However I own a Magellan 2500 that I paid $200.00 that performs as well as my expensive OEM. The nice part about it is that you can program it while on route. While the OEM GPS, you have to be stopped for most functions.

Most GPS have verbal turn by turn instructions. The distance and time to your destination. Lists of restaurants, museums, gas stations, and any other major attractions. Along with their phone numbers, addresses, and how far away. One nice feature that I like, with a push of a button, gives you the street name and address along with the city anywhere in North America.

BTW,, I used a Tom Tom and found them to be okay

Garmin is the one to get. However, I have to dismount the GPS unit from line of sight after parking the car to avoid problem in the city. If you can afford the pocket size version, its easiler to store. I like the C330 as the screen is bright and good size, it does announce where you should make turns or exit, the pocket size version actually announce the street name for you to make turns, even better but more expensive.

If you need European maps also go with Garmin Nuvi 370, otherwise stay with Nuvi 350.

You are not alone. There are many of us dinosaurs still around, who willingly miss appointments and even entire events, instead of actually doing a bit of planning or research into our trips. Some call us men; most call us idiots, but, er, ya I guess we are idiots so I'll shut up now.

Farking technology.

If you are planning on driving to Europe you need more than just a map.

I have a Lawrence 250c touch screen system if you're interested. You can google the name to get more info. Its one of the better rated gps's out there. Paid about $300 a few months ago, but would consider selling for $220.

I have had two Garmins, they are great. RadioWorld are really good, they know the products well, the guys at Future Shop can't spell GPS.

Got a Mio @ $269 and it is great, easy to use, good screen, portable and has MP3 player - Maps are 2 years old and new ones were supposed to be out at end of last April but hasn't shown up yet.
