Growing number of Canadians say Trudeau doing 'bad job' on vaccine rollout even as pace quickens

Trudeau is doing a horrible job.
Canada now ranks 50Th in the world (If I recall correctly) in terms of vaccinating our population.
Trudeau naively figured he could buy vaccine from the Americans or the Europeans like he was walking down to the nearest Shoppers Drug Mart. I guess he didn't get the memo from the Americans, "America First". The Americans banned the export of 3M paper masks for fuck's sake and Mr Dressup figured they would sell us Vaccine? Now even Trudeau's great white hope Joe Biden has told him that America will not export a drop of vaccine until every American who wants a shot has a shot.
What an incompetent fool Teudeau is.
As crazy as Trump was, before he left office, he had managed to vaccinate 30 some odd million Americans. Adjust for population, if all things were equal, Canada should have vaccinated 3 million people, yet by January 20'th, we had vaccinated about 550 thousand people.
Every day on the news, you see one story or the next about the pending arrival of one shipment or another, yet it never materialises. Its just lies being put out by the Federal Government to control the disaster through fog.
As of this morning, according to the Globe and Mail:
As of March 5, 2,622,210 doses have been distributed, 2,254,088 doses have been administered and at least 561,795 people have been fully vaccinated. That’s about 1.5% of Canada’s population.
1.5 percent!!
Vaccinations started in December of 2020. At this rate, it will take 10 years to vaccinate the entire country.
Trudeau knows this and he has moved to approve other less effective vaccines such as the Asrra Zenica vaccine which is only 60 percent effective. (So let's be honest, that's about 50 50 it's going to work. I don't like those odds.)
Contrast our level of vaccinated (1.5 percent) to that of the Americans.

Trudeau should have taken concrete steps at the outset to address the manufacture of vaccine in Canada under license. Pfizer, Moderna don't care who makes the vaccine, all they care about is getting paid. Last I read, one dose of vaccine was retailing for $37.50 cents. Our idiot Prime Minister should have supported our domestic manufacturers with cash to ramp up to produce under license in Canada or by forming partnerships. Instead he focused his attention on giving his WE Charity buddies a billion dollars to hand out like candy on Halloween to teenagers.
What a fucking joke.

A fuckin idiot in all respects. My 80+ year old parent had to wait 3+ hours outside in -10 degree weather while the local vaccine setup got their shit together...just a total shit show...I wonder how many people will die due to Trudeau’s indecision to act...just unforgivable in a pandemic

Obviously I’m making a hyperbolic statement here, but I distinctly remember his tune, and that of his cabinet, changing after his wife got back and tested positive. Blind alligence to any party, Right or Left is not good bro. I have no love for the Conservatives or Right-Wing, but I’m not blind to Trudeau’s poor leadership. The sad fact is Canada just lacks any good leaders; so we settled for a drama teacher who had a famous dad.
I agree on blind allegiance and stuck in ideology is not a good thing but I also agree Justin and the Liberals are a better choice than any leader or party currently in opposition.
I disagree on how quickly Canada under Justin acted. We've done way much better than the US! Are we the best in the world handling COVID, no but we are certainly doing better than many.
That is speculation and you have zero proof. You have no idea how the other parties would have performed under these conditions and what their decisions would have been.
What we do know is that it was mishandled by the Liberals.
O'toole and the party with all of the misfits would be a disaster, that leaves the NDP. Do you really want the NDP running the country?

Comparing ourselves to the debacle of Trump’s administration is a low bar. The vaccine rollout in the US is despite the stupidity of Trump and really a testament to their ability to get shit done, juxtaposed against our ability to stumble fumble and fall on our faces. We’ve been better at handling the pandemic than a lot of crappy countries; which is like being the nicest convict in prison.
Again you are speculating. Either of those parties may have made better deals for Canadians than what the Liberals did. We will never know.
TBH, Canada's doing pretty badly. My sister's entire family got vaccinated in Illinois yesterday. They just phoned a local druggist, made an appointment and got the shot.

I agree the vaccination rollout has been slow, much slower than I like. I want my dam shot!! Although I've been hearing through the grapevine that over the next few months it's going into high gear.
