Here ya go....I've been drinking more Guinness since St. Patricks day and was wondering what is the function of the ball in the can?
Thanks - a very clear explanation of the process. I admit that I didn't know it was quite like that - I thought it was just a simple release of compressed gas...
I pass gas too when I drink beer LOL.... Sorry couldn't resistThe insert is a 'widget' that contains the gas that gives the beer it fresh head. It breaks open when you open the can. If you drinking from the can and like it, try in the bottle, which also has the widget. Closest thing to from the keg draught, honest. Oh ya, 4% and 90 calories. How's that for the healthy drinker?
You should have worked somewhere that made beer.Actually I haven't touched a drop of the stuff since I worked at Labbatt's MANY moons ago.
It's really close but not quite. If you're really good, you can tell the pubs that use chemicals to rinse their tubes and those that use only soap and water. Twice the work but a better clearer taste with the later method. Thanks - a very clear explanation of the process. I admit that I didn't know it was quite like that - I thought it was just a simple release of compressed gas...
Regardless, it's still not as good as the draught version.
Me too! Well I wasn't on a rugby tour though, lol. I love Guinness.I drank my first Guiness in Dublin, while on a rugby tour....from that point on, it was love at first chug!
Both but to be honest, I can't recall if it was better from the factory....this was almost 10 years ago. I remember actually not liking it much the first few sips but it grew on me. By the end of that wild afternoon I was hooked!did you drink it from the actual factory? or were you in a pub?....the stuff from the factory is soooooooooooo smooth and fresh...never drank a beer that good in my life!
Yes, it a well known fact that the first Guiness doesn't go down as nicely as the next 3 or 4.Both but to be honest, I can't recall if it was better from the factory....this was almost 10 years ago. I remember actually not liking it much the first few sips but it grew on me. By the end of that wild afternoon I was hooked!
