We experience it every year. What is this event you ask? The draining of our finances into the pockets of the greeting card manufacturers. For every birthday, we become obligated to purchase greeting cards for friends and relatives, lured into believing that these overpriced goods are necessary to convey our sincere wishes.

Meanwhile, giant conglomerates such as Hallmark are profiting millions off Canadian citizens. Years of pressure have shaped society into believing that these flimsy paper cards are required to have a good birthday.

*Large gentleman enters room, glances at Goober*

Futhermore, greeting cards are ridiculously overpriced. Some cost upwards of $5.00, where they are merely a sheet of paper with some ink. Even a plain card with no fancy embossing often costs $3.00. It is evident that the manufacturers are mass-producing these cards and selling them for huge profits. Adding to this chain of deceit and corruption *Large gentleman approaches Goober, grabs at his arm, Goober shakes him off* is the fact that greeting cards are of a circular nature if studied as a whole. Assuming each person sends greeting cards to all other people for special occasions, at the end of each person's life they have accomplished nothing. The cards sent equal the cards being received, roughly. Adding insult to this, most people do not keep greeting cards. They are displayed in a vain attempt to demonstrate their "popularity" for a week or two, then discarded.....

*Large gentleman tackles Goober*
*Goober gets dragged off by said large gentleman*

*Goober re-enters the room with ruffled hair and gasping for breath*

...In addition, when a greeting card is selected, the words contained within do not represent the sender. Although some may argue that people select cards with meanings that they like and believe, the card conveys none of the actual feelings, being as the words were written with no emotion by a marketer for the card companies.

*Large gentleman appears behind Goober. Large gentleman has a black eye*

Well, regardless......

*Large gentleman grabs Goober around the chest and begins to drag him out of the room*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIR!!!!!

*Door slam*

Oh, dammit, I'm behind on this one....strange things happenin' every day, deadlines inform my life, I'm feeling sexually inadequate, I miss Lady Di, Sorel is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen naked, and now there's a whole thread about Miranda's birthday.

But no doubt, no hesitation, no insecurities, no worries just my affection and best, best wishes, to a special lady and friend.

Good one, Mir! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! And many, many more of them...

PS: You need some pictures for the walls at your place. Wanna go shopping?
