Seriously have you guys thought through the implications of what you are proposing? Here is a list of what you have proposed so far:

-- Eliminate any check on the ability of the Prime Minister to suspend the legislature

-- Prevent the majority in Parliament from ruling

-- Levy fines on any politician who opposes the government

Seriously you guys are fascists.
Lets see here

- The 'check you are speaking about is in the hands of a political appointee...

- The Lib-NDP do not have a majority...in fact they has less seats than the Conservatives...remember the Bloc is NOT part of the coalition!

- I would never agree with this...An election is part of the cost we pay for having a democracy. It was always a fair price when Chretien called one for convenience, why is it such a burden now?

What other check against a PM becoming a dictator is there? The proposal is not "create something better than GG" the propoposal put forward is "make GG obey PM in all cases". In other words the elimination of a check, not the improvement of one.

A majority of MP's want to pass a no confidence motion. A majority of MP's want the coalition to rule.

Might want to reconsider the use of the word fascist..
OK, so it's probably too strong, but damn these proposals are getting pretty close to it.

Seriously: Fine the opposition for calling an election? Eliminate all checks on the power of the PM? Suspend the legislature so it cannot oppose the government?

Are we talking about the government of Canada or the government of Zimbabwe here?

And Bill Clinton did NOT have "sex" with that woman.

Either the yellow bellied traitorous bastard blockheads are part of the Rainbow Coalition or they aren't. celine may favour sucking and blowing at the same time while in caucus ( pun intentional), but before the Canadian people he needs to be a little clearer.

I have never suggested the elimination of the GG position. I know some have but I'm not in that subset of participants. I'm a Monarchist. I just wish we had a proper Governer General.

As to the suspension ( prorogue) of Parliament. there is precedent.

this coalition gang bang thing tries to be too many things to too many different groups. They say they have a majority of the house because the blockheads will vote with the dippers and lieberals yet at the same time they say it is just an agreement for them to vote they are not an integral part of the group. more sucking and blowing. You can't be sort-of a virgin.

I go back to the idea I suggested earlier. Both Harper and Celine release their caucus members to vote freely, not along dogma party lines. That way if any tory wants to play with the gay blades he can join their team, any lib who is from a normal part of Canada and has some remaining spine and integrity would be free to vote with the gov't. That is the only true way to get each MP's wishes since they all claim to be doing good in differing directions.

One thing is for sure.... all this bullshit is distracting people from the economy.
Which is what the Libs and NDP want. If their coalition does get into power, the first things out of their mouths' will be that they won't be able to get anything done because of what the Conservatives have done. They will have no problem blaming the Cons for everything. There is very little they could do right now, without raising taxes enormously, that would get us out of this situation now. The best thing is to try and get through the storm without raising too many taxes. This will correct itself if given the time.
