Alcohol lowers our inhibitions and we openly express what we're all about. For young guys, the default is sex and aggression. For girls, it's submission. These two played their drunken roles as expected. Who knows, the dude was probably so drunk he doesn't remember the incident at all or thought he was dreaming, while she, in her tired drunken state, can recall every last detail.
I honestly don't see relevant parallels with what Harvey did on the casting couch. It doesn't like drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Being her first time, and traumatic as well, of course she remembers it vividly. We all remember the first one.
The guy knew what he was doing too. He bragged about it the next day to everyone.
There is a parallel to Weinstein and it's not drugs or alcohol. It's entitlement.

Was he right to pressure her? No. Do we know his mental state and whether he was pissed drunk? No. Let's not speculate. What we do know is that young guys are horny and adding alcohol to the mix can lead to regretful behaviour.
This was some drunk college kid trying to get his dick wet. A far cry from a sober top dog millionaire Hollywood elite.
Having a different opinion with regard to context and perspective is not "dismissing" someone else's experience.

IMHO the Weinstein scandal is will become a gentle headwind, for Hollywood, compared to the hurricane that will happen if the fate of Jet Travolta should ever get out.
In this world there are many example of do what you have to do to get noticed, to get ahead. You almost see it on a daily basis. I am sure Harvey victimized many of these ladies and many were unwilling. I suspect the vast majority had some idea of what was expected of them. Why is it that there were no official complaints in the past.
I saw a documentary of the Hollywood scene going back to the 1940s. A guy that spent over 60 years at one Hollywood studio told about the things going on there. He was hired in 1943 at 14 years old because many men were drafted to fight in the war. His first job was posting lesser parts on the bulletin boards in the commissary.
He was offered sex and money from the unknown women actresses for advanced information on the better parts. He was even offered sex and money from the mothers of child stars. He told of what studio executives called the 4:00 O'clock girls. That is when the execs would go cruise the commissary for willing female stars to come up to their office for drinks.
