^ It took her four days to become aghast.

Peculiar how it never takes her that long to become upset at the President
She became aghast after she got called out for not becoming aghast, so she decided to fake the aghast

And now that Meryl has come out, the rest now feel safe doing so as well. Now Glenn Close, Kate Winslet and Judi Dench have all released statements.
All with the requisite shock and outrage.

I don't know the answer but what was the time frame between Trump's grabbing pussy comment and Meryl Streep's rant at whichever awards show it was.

What is also curious is the reaction given that he was a huge fundraiser for, and contributor to Democratic Candidates.

For instance, not a single late night U.S. television comedian has thus far mentioned this.
I'm sure Trump never took a dime from any "bad" people ! LOL

Let's face it, Weinstein is one very unattractive dude. He's never going to score based on either his looks or his personality.

The thing is, based on who he is, he would have scored a boat Load of free and willing first class pussy over the years. As the song goes, "she used me and I used her and neither of us cared". But no, that wasn't enough, he needed to coerce women into doing his sexual biddings. Some sort of power trip that he got off on. It wasn't about the sex with him, it was all about the thrill of the power he had over women that they would drop to their knees (figuratively and literally) for him. He deserves what he gets.

I don't see this one blowing over. At least not in the sense that he gets his old life back at some point down the road.

And so he shouldnt. He's one step away from being a serial-rapist, lets be honest.

He's just been getting away with it (so far)

Power and sex for advancement has been around for thousands of years. Some of these guys are getting caught now because they pushed the envelope. I do have to chuckle a bit at a few of these ladies who did the deed back in the day and now scream "wolf" on the downside of their careers. I bet some of the ladies on this board have some "pay for play" stories with Hollywood guys that would blow our minds.

I find it hard to believe that someone as nimble minded as Meryl Streep could be so agash by Weinstein's actions. In her younger days, she made comments about Walt Disney's antisemitism at a time when it could have ruined her career. Her film Out of Africa (a very outdated film) had just come out.

Young actresses do what they must. Margot Robbie bit her lip and did the nude scenes in Wolf of Wall Street. And the rumours of lip service that Olivia Munn gave to Brian Grazer to get her roles have never died down. As Graham Chapman may have said: "on second thought let's not go to Hollywood, it is a sleazy place".

Another example of the powerful man taking advantage of a semi-starving young actress is the Al Pacino - Jessica Chastain relationship. Chastain probably did more than just the Dance of the Seven Vails in Salome and Alfredo probably didn't give it a second thought. Today she refers to him as her acting Godfather, I wonder what she says about him in private.

Turns out Meryl is aghast at the revelation. Claims that not 'everybody' knew what was going on regarding Hollywood's worst kept secret.

I hate it when the girl fakes an aghasm...
Streep's an excellent actress. People pay her to fake it. She does it professionally. She's been nominated for an Oscar more than any other actress (I think).

The question to always be asking yourself in any situation is 'qui bono?', which is latin for 'who benefits?' If you answer this question correctly, then what you're looking at will usually make sense.

Harvey's wife.

Much like Trump's wife.

Would she be with him if he wasn't rich and famous?

(Rhetorical question.)

Funny how it took a couple of decades for this to hit the fan. I guess careers are more important than women abuse. But, the again, this is the same crowd that gives standing ovation to Stalinists and Polanski.
