If it was YOUR career that was going to be wrecked, you might hesitate for a couple of decades too. It's easy to stomp your little foot when all you have at stake is a post on TERB. The women who have come forward now are either established mega stars or out of the film business completely. And they have only stepped forward because others took the same difficult step.
Now I realize that scoring points against "lefties" and film world people on TERB is very, very important to you. But put yourself in these women's shoes for a second or two. Not only would their careers have been ruined, but everyone would have closed ranks around Weinberg and protected him. Why? - Because he is / was a major Hollywood rainmaker. You play his game or you get kicked out of Hollywood. And don't think it's going to change very much now. Weinberg may have been outed. But there are a thousand Weinbergs and the other 999 are still operating.
Personally I think that every Weinberg or Cosby who is nailed is a step forward. But play for work is as old as the hills in the entertainment world and that isn't going to change.
And none of the women named in the article ever cheered for Polanski, let alone Stalin. That belongs in your own little fantasy world.
