Has anyone here ever been arrested for trying to or purchasing sex?

Every year, a few dozen charges are laid against people trying to purchase sex in Ontario. Who are these people? How does this happen if agencies are so safe?

This is pre c-36, but that doesn’t really matter since c-36 is not enforced. It does a pretty good job of describing what is illegal. It seems that Saskatchewan gets the most attention in Canada with respect to prostitution.

You can contrast the data from the U.S. for a similar period. When you divide by the total adult population, you get a very small number in percentage terms, but Canada has an additional (and important) zero in the result before you get to a “non-zero” number.

As I have said many times, the U.S. prostitution arrests are for all practical purposes limited to the low-end of the scene (often when other crimes are present) and in areas hostile to sex work.

It appears the same is largely true of Canada.

while in Canada hobbying is relatively safe, I don't see how you can say the same about the US. They run actual sting operations, even in Vegas.
See https://www.8newsnow.com/news/local...trafficking-operation-during-grand-prix-week/ (seven arrests for luring a child/soliciting a minor but 31 simply for soliciting sex).
Your link also shows a very significant number of arrests. US can go fuck itself with their religious nuts and politicians, I am not hobbying there.

Realistically in the GTA, arrests will only happen when underage girls are involved. At one time, undercover cops posed as streetwalkers, but that market isn't prominent enough to warrant the deployment anymore.

I actually saw three streetwalkers working around 8 AM last week, not far from where I live.

I remember they used to arrest John's who bought street-level prostitutions. I haven't heard of any escorts like those reviewed here getting in trouble....with the exception of those who might have sought underage or trafficked women.

Sadly, that screams desperation and drug addiction.

Live near here by chance?

Got caught in Winnipeg several years ago. It was a sting, cops took out an ad offering the services of a 30 year old, got to the location was met by a 30 year old woman who asked me what I wanted. When I said full service, uniforms came in from adjoining room and that was that. Avoided a record with John school

Almost, in the early 90's , booked a session, get to location , knock on door, no answer , knocked several times more, after a few minutes I left. I call them no answer, next day I heard that the agency got busted.

As much as we may like to think so I don’t see how the sex trade market is in the millions of men. Maybe not even hundreds of thousands.
Lol you're absolutely cracked if you don't think millions of men are involved in what is quite literally considered the oldest profession in the world.

It's legal, flat out in several countries too.

And that's not even counting porn, which btw is 100% sex trade.

Law enforcement are doing their jobs… going after people breaking the laws that can hurt people… and for the most part, leaving this industry alone (not to mention the number of cops that participate!)

I think the ONLY enforcement that happens (stings)… are focussed on human trafficking and predators. By-law gets involved if there’s enough pressure on the municipal government to shut down MP’s.

I’m curious more than anything that SP’s/Agencies that operate out of private condos actually survive/avoid complaints to the condo board.

I think something like 2019 I heard from a gal I used to see often out if a house in Markham the guy running the agency got arrested for pimping. He served time if I recall. I was told a couple undercover cops posed as sps getting hired or something. That’s how they got the guy. Agency was shit anyway. I only went because I was hot for one of the girls.

I am working backwards from the number of SWs in Toronto, times the number of men they see a day, with a discount for double counting multiple visits. How many SWs you think there are in Toronto? Serious question.

I knew a guy named rockstar who lived in the Marilyn Monroe condo in Mississauga who got put into jail for human trafficking. They actually got him through the condo building allowing the police to monitor their camera system and then when they had what information they needed they did a raid through the stairwell to avoid being seen on the camera system of the elevators and busted him.
He was also:
running poker games out of his condo
also dealing drugs (mostly cocaine).
also an arms dealer.
So overall a good catch for the system.

Just what you want living next door!!! I wouldn’t mind a couple independent gals working but the guns and drugs and trafficking is where I draw the line!!
