So for clarity does resetting your IP (in your basement?) change your IP address or does it do some other little trick.

I have cable on Shaw. I was told that i could contact Shaw and only they, and they alone, can change my IP address, and you have to have a bloody good reason. --- Kev
Hmmmm ..... that is interesting because once I pulled the plug and rebooted my computer, I was able to connect back to TERB.

I knew it did something, so I assumed it reseted my IP. But according to what you've said, I guess not .....

The internet is just so mysterious. They used to say that no one in the world would know if your jerking off behind your screen. But now, I guess they do .... scary !!! :(

If you are on cable.. the IP is assigned to the serial number of the modem... nothing to do with your PC

WhOiSyOdAdDy? thats right. After further review on my end thats correct.

GlavaMan i would say you are behind a proxy, and it makes perfect sense in what you see, and say.

If your behind a proxy ( Sympatico, Telus) then your local IP is hidden from the sites you surf like TERB, and another IP address is assigned to you to surf the sites at your will. From what i know that new assigned IP address changes everytime you log on to your Internet Provider. ie Sympatico, Telus

I wonder if you can lock out someones IP address if they are on Sympatico or Telus or any other company that protects there clients by using this system? After all its a firewall we are talking about. --- Kev

It's probably unwise from a number of different perspectives to go waving your dick around in a public forum and threatening people. I can assure you, however, that no complaint to the mods was made by me, as I can more than handle myself.

Having said that, I personally would have banned him for that if I was a mod. You just can't do that shit. I thought Troops was smarter than that, but apparently not.

I guess its ok to instigate the hell out of somebody though.

Is Troops gone (again)?

Can a mod respond to clarify the status of Troops?

If he's gone again, I'll miss his humour and brash style.

Sorry... not a mod.. but
Thanks. I'd still be interested in hearing Fred's take on it. From the quote offered alone, it's not clear that any serious line was crossed.

Rather than let him lose his temper again, we decided it was time for him to take a break.
I don't agree with your group decision, but as for your response, fair enough.

Well Troops, see ya again after the break.
