If you are on cable.. the IP is assigned to the serial number of the modem... nothing to do with your PC
GlavaMan i would say you are behind a proxy, and it makes perfect sense in what you see, and say.
If your behind a proxy ( Sympatico, Telus) then your local IP is hidden from the sites you surf like TERB, and another IP address is assigned to you to surf the sites at your will. From what i know that new assigned IP address changes everytime you log on to your Internet Provider. ie Sympatico, Telus
I wonder if you can lock out someones IP address if they are on Sympatico or Telus or any other company that protects there clients by using this system? After all its a firewall we are talking about. --- Kev
