The term was deliberately used as being more or less politically neutral and covering both Israel and the West Bank.

Yes, several times.

The first time, I think, was with the 19 year old hot sister of a friend (a long time ago). Thanks to her, I realized there was such a thing as a holy land. Since then, I really love being in a holy land.

If by Holy Land you mean my beloved Lancashire, then the answer is YES.

I've been to Cannonball but haven't taken the time to visit the whole trinity.

Great, another barren wasteland.

Yes, and I've lived there for more than two years. Parts are incredibly beautiful, the food is fantastic, history is palpable, even in little things like chariot wheel ruts in stone roads, and when the women get the arm hair under control they can be gorgeous for a few years!

Been there 4 times: First for a year, then 4 months, then 3 months, then 6 weeks.

Almost all my friends and family there are Jewish, but I managed to befriend an Israeli/Palestinian/Arab/Muslim (a fisherman/pot dealer from Acre), who initially was sure I was a spy but then we became cautious friends.

I also became friendly with some Druze Arabs who I worked with in the north. Nice people, very hospitable. Visited their homes several times.

There is a lot that has gone on to make the Jews and the Arabs there hate and fear one-another, but I also heard many stories and saw many examples of coexistence and decency between Jews and Arabs.

While I heard expressions of fear of the Arabs I never heard anyone teaching or espousing hatred of Arabs in Israel.

I really think peace is possible once respect and acceptance becomes the norm rather than the other crap.

Good shwarma too.

I go to Vegas every chance i get...
Actually a lot of the landscape is similar to Vegas. I have been once on business and was impressed with Haifa ( beautiful city) and Tel Aviv. The boardwalk by the beach downtown was great.

Hated f*cking El Al though. Takes you forever to get through security when you are flying out and if you are foreign they interogate you about your activities while you were there.

Interesting, assuming that those of us participating are "the usual suspects" in the various Middle Eastern threads thus far those who have never traveled to the Holy Land well out number those who have. Likewise that those who have absolutely no interest in visiting equal those who have visited and lived there.

Seems these two American tourists saw a couple of locals crying their eyes out at the wailing wall. They were beseaching their god to send them to the promised land. Confused the Yanks asked what was the problem, they were jews in isreal, wasn't that the whole idea. The locals looked at them and said. ' What, are you crazy, we want to go to Miami Beach".:D
