I agree...so many people out there have reached a boiling point, and are ready to snap. Having access to guns means the consequences can be so much worse.
Those kids would still be running around and playing were it not for guns, though. A crazed individual could not do as much damage with a knife.
You and others who frequently say this are ignoring the fact that guns were invented with one purpose and one purpose only! To injure, harm and kill another being. There is nothing else in the intention of using a gun.
