Anyone into this show? I've always liked it, as well as Ramsays other show Kitchen Nightmares. Gordan Ramsay really knows his shit and the work/tip he does to the restaurants on KN is just out of this world. Compared to the Canadian version of the show, what a joke, no comparison.

Almost to the end now, who do you think will win this season?

That is the only reality show I follow now. I used to be devoted to survivopr, the first few seasons, no more.

One of the two white girls left (Corey, Christina) - Lean toward Corey - Ramsey really likely the young ladies and he is hiring for his restaurant - although he did mention how well Christina "cleaned up" for the photo shoot ;)

The others:

Bobby (field general) - is a lazy ass - has some talent but has consistently shown he doesn't want responsibility of the top job - Too fat (Ramsey is a fitness freak and won't hire out of shape guy. Same for all below.)

Petrozza - Too old too forgetful (nice guy) - lot of experience but no imagination when it comes to adding to menus.

Fish face guy (Matt) - No talent - kept around for rating

Jen - too bossy, doesn't listen, can't take direction - kept around for ratings.

I thought the English run of Kitchen Nightmares was the best. The US version and Hell's Kitchen are just too over the top. More stunts and yelling than reality.

These 2 shows are also the only reality shows i follow and like.

I agree with Hunter, the 2 girls really seem the strongest. I actually would like i think Christina? to win, the shorter girl who went to culinary school. The other 1, who tries to use her sexyness to take down the guys, i never liked from the beginning. I dont even find her to be that attractive, except nice body.

Petrozza, a wonderful guy and decent cook, but seems every week he's getting yelled at for simply being to messy. I dont see him being a take charge lead chef at a big restaurant.

Matty: at times he seems like hes decent but other times its oke wtf are you thinking/doing? Remember the first dish they had to make for ramsay, their sig dish. Caviar with chocolate on top

I agree about Bobby, he messed up on the first task when he volunteered to be leader but didnt want the responsibility of it, that was weird.

The other girl defs needs to go soon, i cant stand her talking anymore, and i'm just watching it on tv. Cant imagine what it'd be like to actually be next to her the whole day.

I'll put my money on Corey...a bit of a game player, but strong enough to command the kitchen and given a free hand probably will. In the final analysis, this ability to be the Major General is what it is about.
I think Bobby is just a legend in his own mind. Rest are weak, too unsure of themselves.
Final two...Bobby and Corey with Corey taking the job.

I don't think it is even that "sexiness to take down the guys", I think it is a play for the cameras. She knows if she is shot in bikinis it is more likely that they keep her for ratings. She might get some other gigs after the show, like the photo shoot they did one year for the girls from the Apprentice show. I don't really find her that attractive either but she is working with what she has. I give her credit for trying to work the show for all it is worth.

I watch all of his shows even though I think he's a complete idiot. He loves to degrade people to the lowest point and then build them back up.

As far as Hell's Kitchen... most of the participants couldn't qualify to be line cooks at some of the better restaurants in TO. It's all about ratings... their personalities and how stupid they can look on camera.

Just to be a contrarian, I'm going to say Bobby.

He performs well consistently. He doesn't take a leadership role in the kitchen, although none of the men do. Right off the bat, I thought it was him or Jen. I've since discounted her, and figure that either her or Matt are going home tonight.

I dont think i'd say he Loves to degrade ppl. I mean if you watch kitchen nightmares, pretty much every episode the owners are just not so keen on his advice at the start. Some are more stubborn than others. They even go on camera and say how much they hate him, he sucks etc. IMO that just Ramsay trying to get it into their heads that they called him for help and to at least try his advice. I always say to myself, why would you call him for help if you think he sux or wont even take his advice and still want to do things their way.

He knows when one is incompetent and when one knows what he/she is doing or has the skills to be a good chef or run a good restaurant.
I saw an episode recently where the owner was basically just a daughter of some rich dude and was able to 'play' at running a cafe/bar in France. They brought in a good young Chef but ended up screwing her over cuz the daughter just wont put in work even after Ramsays showed her what kind of profit she can gain. He ended up hiring that Chef at his London restaurant.
The worst one i've seen is the US version, pizza place in Cali where the guy's goal was to have his pizza in supermarkets, although he uses bought-in frozen dough, and his signature 20 something combination pizzas, which he finds unique but confuses everyone else. This guy was by far the dumbest. Completely ignores ramsays advices the whole time. There wasnt even a followup session. Restaurant ended up closing.

I think Corey is def #1 at the moment. They are now going back to girls vs. boys (which i find to be getting dull in the year 2008), if christina is smart, she'd watch her back and try and get Corey out, as from the preview it seems they are planning to take out Jenn, but Christina should be careful.

If Petrozza can step up, clean up his act and start showing some leadership, then i think he could be the wildcard. Or else his kindness could end up being his weakness.
Bobby and Jenn is all talk, and when someone is that much of a talker, they are not a doer.

You ever see him in a interview? The first thing he usually goes after is the interviewer's weight.

Fish flounders and get flushed out of Hell's Kitchen. :)

When Ramsey shutdowns the kitchen I wonder if they compensate the customers? I would be interested to know how it works. Over the years they must have been a lot of unhappy customers.

I've thought about how HK works as well and did some googling. These ppl that goto HK and by invitations only. I'm sure they are told in advance of what they are getting themselves into.
What i've been wondering is what about the servers? The show must pay the servers quite well, or else i dont see why they'd work in a place like that when theres a 50-50 chance the kitchen can shut down or customers just walking out.

I have to take back what i said about Matt earlier. I think he might be alrite cook at home, for himself, but in that environment, to be a chef, nooooo way. Tonights episode just showed he's got problems. He thinks too highly himself. How do you quit during service and still think you shouldnt be up for elimination?
Bobby was funny tonite when he was talking about how he kept his calm when everyone was losing it. While he didnt even know how many pieces of meat he has served lol

Petrozza again, good food but dirty and messy lol

Well he did that on "The Hour" and the host isn't really out of shape.

He was also on the CBC show "Steven and Chris", SO told me that he spent time telling one of the hosts how fat he was. (Kiss of death for a gay man.) I guess he thinks it is cute to go on the attack.

Don't get me wrong he came from nothing to be on top of his world. He is a bit over the top so be it. Good for him. :D

Kitchen Nightmares is much better than Hell's Kitchen. The former has him actually helping people whereas the latter is him just yelling at people.

I am not so sure about him not helping people. He elevates nobody chefs and gives them a chance to be a head chef at some of the hottest new restaurants.

The thing I don't get is why the chefs don't prepare themselves for the challenge. If I wanted to win I would be studying the show, learning how to make the perfect risotto, reading Ramsey's books, find out what he put on his menus, ...

I do understand 2/3 of the clowns are there for ratings and aren't there because of their cooking skills.

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
Bobby is a big mouthpiece that hides behind others, but when it gets to the last few(if he makes it) the truth will show.

Jen never admits to mistakes, yet she's always ready to criticize others.

IMHO none of them would last/qualify as a head chef in one of Chef Ramsey's kitchens.
