I don't care what you guys think. French girls are hot.

Actually...now that I think about it Irish girls are hot too. Somethin about green eyes and an Irish accent. But if I was to really hit the jackpot I'd say an Asian woman with freckles and an Irish accent.

Wohoo! :D

ric, did not have time to respond earlier in the day as I was working hard so I can have enough time to play with Taylor and Sabrina.

In general, I don't think anyone disagrees with your rule #1. But none of that actually happened for what you made a big deal out of your own pure imagination, interpretation, envy that you were not part of the humour play, or whatever went on in your brain. All those cross postings happened natuarlly with the flow and got the board fired up with some laughs. I never had any sense that any of the cross postings were done intentionally to steal biz from other SPs like you were trying to bend your own imagination into facts. In fact, I was not even a client of Stacey nor I ever seen her before when all those postings happened. Selina is a big girl and she does not seem to be too shy to cross post and say things for herself. Neither is Maxine so I did not see your point on the whole BS speech about self-policing. The Ottawa section works well on its own without your "pick-and-choose" intervention only when it had something to do with your favourites.

Like I said before, you always want to have the last say and you always try to sneak in something to bend the facts too in your last say. All that "bullshit" weiner postings you quoted below happened among Stacey, Antlerman, and Lurker and you were fully aware of that. But somehow you bended it again to include me. My play with Stacey was about her body builder poses and it evolved on for weeks long before all the cross postings and your BS intervention.

If that is not intentional, that means (a) you are just as incompetent as I imagine to can't even get the facts straight, or (b) you are the sneaky hypocrite I always suspect you are claiming to be the objective person you are not.

G.

PS. Don't expect a response for a while or ever!

Great idea ! OK, rule #1, no SP should hijack another SP's threads if her purpose is to grovel for clients to come and see her instead. No problem with them coming on suggesting duos, meeting while in town and the like, but no bullshit like "gmuoo or Antlerman, come see me I'll warm your cocktail weiner in between my buns" lol.
Over to you.

My opinion

We all gather on boards like this to share information with each other and learn more about SP's we are interested in. Ideally customers and service providers can learn a little from each other too. I know I enjoy hearing things from a service provider's perspective, hopefully ther reverse is true as well.

At a more fundemental level I as a customer very much enjoy getting a glimpse of an SP's personallity through their posts. I'm not interested in seeing a machine that give a HJ a 3000 rpm, I'm interested in the person and what they bring to the equation. That's a big part of GFE for me, the chemistry, clicking, a personallity I enjoy.

That can't happen if SP's aren't welcome to participate where ever and when ever they choose.

As for stealling business, it's inherently self-regulating. If customer's don't like an SP's posts, for whatever reason, they probably won't see them. If customers don't think an SP is being ethical that will be apparent very quickly in the appointment book.

I think we are far better off hearing everything Sp's have to say, they add a vital dimension to the board that we ( the customers ) can't achieve without them.

So, IMO, everyone should post where ever they feel comfortable posting, it makes things better for everyone.

gmuoo,

(WTF's a gmuoo anyway ? lmao)

You must have grown up and gone to school in Vanier. For your sake, I hope English is your second language. Your posts ("bended your imagination") always crack me up lol.

Take my word, there was a lot of resentment by SPs when Stacey came on and jumped all over the threads I mentioned. They won't come onto the board and say that. They're much smarter than that.

I'm the first to appreciate good humour on the board (and you've supplied a lot of it to me, thanks a lot !), but there was a lot of crap on the board last week about last minute cancellations, SPs were sending PMs asking what's going on in Ottawa, should they come or stay home, some came on the board and said that they were considering cancelling if things didn't get straightened away.

Then Stacey comes along with her weiners, her canollis and her blah, blah, blah on threads that out of town SPs had initiated ---- for the purpose of announcing when they were coming to Ottawa, their availability, etc ---- all of them clearly put there for marketing purposes ---- and what does she do ? She shits all over their threads and promises to this and that to them, and invites them to come and see her and so on.

If she had some ethics and had considered how coming onto other SPs' threads could have caused clients to cancel and see her instead she would have stuck to her own thread, or maybe it was purposely done, with the help of her lapdogs, who knows ?

The point is she finally agreed to back off, and stick to marketing herself on her own thread. No problem with her coming onto another SP's thread to talk about doing a duo, getting together or stuff like that , but getting on to divert business her way is underhanded.

As an example, Selina announced in her thread that something had happened and her Thursday night was now all free. That all got lost in the shuffle between Stacey popping on and promising to warm certain members' cocktail wieners, asking them to bring her sandwiches when they meet, yadda, yadda.

Glad it's been cleared up.

Now post again, we all need a good laugh around here.

Whatever!

You wanna be a Mod sign up or shut up. And I started her thread. Oh and if any of the SP's that cross promoted were offended (sic), I think they are woman enough to stand up for themselves. Or haven't yo been reading this thread...

Stay cool, Lurker.
It's a good idea to promote and announce strictly in your own thread with no comments from the crowd. Even if each is having fun with it, it becomes contagious and tends to create the same atmosphere in someone else's thread who might not welcome it. I'm glad it's not a hard and fast rule, but we should be aware of this basic board etiquette.
Starting a fresh thread to have fun like you did is fine.

this is working great

Wow.......I think this thread is doing us all some good as to what we can all do to make this place work much more smoothly.

I agree and do not like it when threads get too far off topic...........you loose the fun in trying to read it.

I would rather see more threads on different topics than a couple of threads that bounce around.

Again.......I am sorry for getting carried away on some threads in the past.....but I will try to help set a better tone to the threads out here.

Svend/Antlerman,

That's exactly what I was suggesting.

It keeps things fair. Keeps threads on track. Allows SPs to communicate with their clients directly, and keep them up to date on changes in scheduling, rates, etc, without interference. And it ensures the board is easy to search.

There's lots of real estate on this board. TERB is not going to run out of it. Separate threads are a great idea. That's how things were up to the middle of last week. Let's get back on track.

We all agree then?

I think what got alot of people going here is that the comments of cross posting and hijacking were taking place right inside the threads.....making the threads that much more difficult to read...

If there is a beef with a thread, then start another post related to it that will allow venting and questions without diverting the actual orriginal thread.

Lurker, antlerman, ric, and selina

Lurker, you better edit your post (affended->offended). Otherwise, you will be classified or discriminated by ric as a 2nd grade citizen or English as your second language too ... let's see .... maybe everyone on Terb except ric who might never have had any grammatical or spelling errors in their posts are all 2nd class citizens too. What's wrong with the people in Vanier, ric? Are they all 2nd or 3rd class citizens in your book too? Several MPs are in Vanier too ...???? Ridiculous! One of the best and really hard-to-get-in school are in Vanier too but I doubt you would know:

antlerman, we will never get agreement on a board like this ... there's no need to :)

And ric, it's getting bored ... ZZZZ .... the same tactics again about fabricating your own imaginations/interpretations into facts ... other SPs got lots of cancellations all because of another SP posting too much ... if that's really the case which I doubt, the other SPs should learn better on how to promote themselves ... and how to post properly about some important announcements they want to make on their threads ... I guess we all should get banned or refrain from posting a lot of new threads on days when your favourites have something to post ... otherwise, we may bump their postings to the bottom or page 2 so no one sees their posts and you will be upset again .... that's really great for the board having some "pick-and-choose" ric intervention and policy on who, what, and when can be posted where .... if people genuinely wants to book with an SP, they will read all her postings page by page or from where they left off last time ...

Selina, I hope you are reading this too. It is really a bit of genuine advise based on my brief but keen observations. When I first read your threads especially when you made lots of postings yourself, your thread is really hard to read and hard on the eyes. It is very easy for people to miss what you want to convey especially when there are lots of posts. All of your postings are usually very short and has the same huge "white block" format (caused by your signature). The way you set up your signature is not really that good as it has way too much white space. Usually, having just enough white space is good but you have way too much and the same repetitiveness/pattern of your huge signature makes almost every single posts of yours look identical and very hard on the eyes for your followers. I would suggest you try the following:

(i) target your audience. It is really marketing 101 to have a targeted message. It may be slightly more work for you to do cut and paste but just having the Ottawa schedule when you post in Ottawa will be much better for us. Most of us don't care about your Toronto or London schedule. It just makes things harder to read and makes almost every of your post huge enough to scroll off the screen. I am sure your Toronto and London audience will appreciate this too. They will feel that you are paying special attention to each of us. Your huge signature gets your thread into way more pages than we ever want as it wastes time to wait for the next page.

(ii) Make good use of the Title field. If you have something important to say like having new openings and so on, it will help your followers a lot as the title part will be bold making a good visual separation so it will be a whole lot easier for us to pick up. Right now, things just get lost on its own by your own huge consecutive "white block" posts. They all look the same when glancing thru quickly.

(iii) You may want to be the first to embed a different image in your post if there is some important announcements you want to make. The one you have now is pretty but I am sure you have plenty more nice pictures too ... embed a different animiated gif or a mng image instead to draw attention depending on the occasion or the event ... really simple things to better convey the message to your followers and catch our attention ....

(iv) many small simple things like the above ... similar simple things goes for your web site too after a quick glance ....

I am out. Having a good weekend everyone. Still have another review to write about Taylor.

wow...that was alot of typing........let me guess....
- you live or were raised in Vanier
- you wished you parents sent you to a school like that, or you wished you could have gone to a school like that.
- You work in computers, most likely have a penchant for wanting to web design
so that being said....hope you have a good weekend!

gmuoo,

You never fail to disappoint !!. Thanks for another very entertaining post. You had me rolling on the floor laughing. I literally split a gut ! I don't think you realize how funny you are ! Please keep posting !!

Oh yeah, and Selina, you better watch out "having all of that white space", and make sure you're aware that "the same repetitiveness/pattern of your huge signature makes almost every single posts of yours look identical and very hard on the eyes for your followers", or you might make gmuoo all upset, lmao !!

You are one smart girl!

Selina, no need to apologize as I was not upset at all. I was merely trying to point out something obvious to you and help you out a bit. I think you have out done yourself in your new simple and yet effective signature and I am sure your intended audience will appreciate it too. You have far better web talents than I ever will or wish to have.

JP, I was not upset at all but those were my real genuine suggestions to Selina which I believed she agreed to as well after she looked at it from a retrospective point of view. It makes no sense to have the Ottawa schedule at the bottom of each huge post either when she is posting to attract Ottawa clients' attention. It is just simple and common sense business practices that me and many others employ on a day to day basis. I was merely trying to help her out a bit to get the right attention.

I don't really have a lot of free time if you know how many things I am involved in other than work and this hobby aside. I just work very fast and may I say smart somtimes too while leaving little or no error with all my multi-tasked and parallel executions. And I hardly get enough sleep either - just not enough hours in a day.

Omg!!

I can't believe this thread!
You folks have totally gone over the edge and have waaayyy to much friggin' time to think. I gotta admit - I'm a simple man, but holy crap, even I know when BS is BS. The conversations on this subject have just gotten so obscure that I've lost the meaning of the arguement. Highjacked Threads I believe it was. How can anyone intellectualize that to the level you characters have?
You must work for the government. If so, get a real job.
