Hmmmm...

I recently received a series of PMs from someone who I didn't know, and who had zero posts to his credit. He had a very strong interest in a certain SP and he was trying to see what I knew about her and if I had had any contact with her. More importantly, he indicated that he had heard from a well-known member who had sent him my way.

What was interesting, is that this well-known member had never heard of this guy, and most certainly had not sent him to me for information. A second well-known member, whos name was also "dropped", confirmed that he knew nothing of this guy as well.

Anyway, my point is that every once in a while a guy shows up on here who MIGHT have an alternate agenda. Someone who APPEARS to have an unhealthy interest in a certain woman. He asked for my email address etc which I declined to give.

I might be way off base here, but I wanted to caution others to use a little common sense when it comes to passing along "inside" information to unknown members. In this case, I had nothing to pass along anyway, so the point is moot.

To the new guy, if I am wrong about you, my apologies. Once you have established some credibility through posts and reviews, you might find guys more willing to share!

I think the point that Stoo was making is that this can be a very dangerous profession and that some SPs have stalkers... that's a lot scarier than LE... just ask any of the ladies

my guess would be LE.....for most SP's you can find thier contact info right from their personal websites. if it was someone with bad intentions wouldn't they just contact the SP directly? by asking Stoo for info what's the most one would get, the menu options ? (I don't know just my $0.02)

I think that the LE have a lot better things to do. My bet is it's an old boyfriend or a boyfriend wannabe. The LE have a lot bigger fish to fry. You have to watch your ass around here... especially a big old grey haired wrinkly ass like yours, Stoo.

LOL. Based on what? I should have been more clear... this was regarding a long-retired SP. If LE is after her, it would have to be the "Cold Case Squad".

The other member seemed to feel it was more likely a b/f checking up. As I said, I have no knowledge either way... honest!.

You are missing the point
if it is an old bf, a new bf, CISIS, WRP,RCMP<FBI,INTERPOL or any other group or individual the point is:

do not give out any info other than YOUR OWN name rank and seial number

if an SP of any nature chooses to share her info and asks you to help ...so be it ....but to share any thing with any unknown online user is wrong wrong wrong
